— The season is over, and that means it's time to get geared up for summer programming. This year's summer shows are a better crop than normal, but our BuddyTV Fan Popularity Rankings are still enthralled with the end of sweeps, as you can see with all the big names below. There are some surprising results. Commentary is below.
Lost continues to be the success story of the spring, re-energizing a fan base that was becoming a little anxious. The last half of the season was undeniably spectacular. The Bachelor's spot at number two is probably the biggest surprise on the rankings this week. The finale was a big hit, and people wanted to discuss what happened.
American Idol limps in to third, very surprisingly. I suppose the finale didn't hold much suspense; Jordin Sparks' victory seemed a foregone conclusion. Dancing with the Stars continues to perform well as it has all year, thanks to Apolo Ohno's victory.
America's Next Top Model has always been a big hit on BuddyTV, actually much more so than it is in the actual ratings. The show is ripe for internet debate, or so it seems. Pussycat Dolls: The Search for the Next Doll has been, by far, the most incredible performer on the rankings on all season. It's been in the top ten all season, despite being off the air for weeks and now months!
Grey's Anatomy, previously a top three FPR performer on a weekly basis has fallen off recently. We can probably chalk that up to its poorly received season finale. Heroes clings to the top ten, and not surprisingly: the finale was well-received and fans have been feeling the need to discuss.
24 has been a disappointment all season, and the FPR rankings are no exception. Hopefully, season 7 will catapult both show back to its rightful place in the top 5. Prison Break is mild surprise on the list, considering how long it's been off the air.
