If Microsoft's patents are being infringed then it should point out which ones and sue the people who developed that software. These deals are FUD. They don't want to actually have to prove their claims, so they just form deals based on vague threats. The end result (they're hoping) will be to kill off the smaller distributions in the commercial/business world, leaving only a few companies left to compete. Divide and conquer.
