You guys deserved it...Congratulations. I just hope that the Niedermayers bring home Stanley to Edmonton, Alberta. :-) It was a great game and Anaheim completely dominated the game. For a bit there, I was thinking Ottawa might actually come back from the 2 goal deficit after their 1st goal by Alfredsson and then his second, but then the crap hit the fan.
Oh well. I thought Anaheim would win it anyhow. Amazing group of kids they are. :-)

No team north of the border has won it since Montreal in 1993.
I don't know why the media keeps bringing this up. The Ducks have way more Canadian players than the Senators. The NHL has nothing to do with Canada vs. US.

canadians tend to always cheer for the canadian team, even if they're not from around that city.
this year, it didn't happen as much since ottawa is somewhat hated (at least among my friends) in montreal and toronto, and because the ducks, as you said above, have more canadian players, but last year, everyone rallied behind Edmonton.
