i've heard 4 hour battery life..... the iPhone may be the best, but if it has no power, it's going to go straight down hill. but who knows, it could last longer than my LG

I'm checking Newsvine in Safari for Windows right now. I have to point out that this is officially the fastest "out-of-the-box" web browser I've ever used. It feels like it literally RIPS the data from the servers. Kind of impressive. Hate the theme/colors though.
I tried installing Safari for Vista with Quicktime, but it would not install. Two error messages terminated the process. Anybody having any luck with Vista and Safari?
Mine did the same. I think it's due to a corrupt install file being offered on one of their servers. I will post a workaround if I find one for you.
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2738".
Any help?
Some guy on the Apple support forums had a similar problem, you could go check there.
I love these AP writers. The desktop picture is part of their writeup?! Really?

I installed the latest Safari on my Mac this morning and I thought it was poor to be honest:
- Pages were taking ages to load and then gave me nothing in the tab, I had to reload a couple of times to get anything. This didn't just affect the first visit to the site, it happened when following links also.
- Why did I have to restart my Mac after installing Safari - that's one of the reasons you leave Windows behind.
I hope they buck their act up pretty quick, it's a poor advertisement for the company.
It's also beta software. This isn't a "ready for prime time" event. Beta software is rarely feature complete and very often unstable.

So far it has been stable and pretty near identical in speed and everything else as far as I've noticed - for me at any rate.

I hung up for me once on my work laptop, but I was also kind of putting the machine through some intensive processing. So far it's pretty nice, although Safari 3.0 doesn't seem to work quite right with Yahoo!'s new Mail Beta yet.

I appreciate that but not loading the pages is pretty elementary. I would expect beta level software to at least perform core tasks for the major portion of its operation. The experience earlier was of alpha grade software.
I really dislike safari and I'm even one of those "I LOVE MY MAC" and "MAC IS THE BEST" type of people. I honestly don't think Safari will make it that far. I think I'll stick with my Firefox thanks.
Big deal? I'm not an Apple hater or fanboy...however seems like every time Steve goes to the bathroom, there's a huge press release about it! Let's tone down all the hype around Apple. Yes it's cool that they are going to do "browser battle" with Microsoft, but let's at least hold off on the hype until an actual stable release is issued instead of the beta. Perhaps maybe then would be the time for comparisons and any hype, assuming it's even deserved.
