Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

What a shame.. I wonder why it wasn't possible to remove the baby, or even the father, from the tank?!

Child abuse? Under investigation? I am a deep lover of animals (especially ones that swim), and this is very sad, but I can't help but chuckle at the phrasing and tone of the article. What are they gonna do, question the deadbeat dad?

Isn't the aquarium sort of a high-security fish jail? I guess he needs solitary.

Excellent point Evan. These fish are already in jail! They are in the Matrix! To fish born in captivity...the 'ocean' is but an myth, I suppose, that likely haunts their dreams.

Good point, except they mix the good eggs with the bad eggs. Solitary is probably the way to go. Or give him the "electric eel".

My guess is daughter didn't clean her room. The father decided to prove the point that he could bring her in this world, that he can take her out. Wonder if he'll make another just like her (name that comedian - shouldn't be hard).

In all seriousness - I wonder how manatas treat their young in the wild and if that somehow resulted in this.

      Timeout -

The female baby manta was born Saturday at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, more than a year after its parents mated.

Over a year of labor! Phwoah!

Arlo, actually, I think it's a year of gestation that ends with labor.
