Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

The make or break will be the key pad. If fat fingered people can type with out a problem, then this phone will be fine.

BTW.. all new 3g phones will not be allowed to enter the US due to court ruling. Apple was "lucky" to not include 3g in their phone.... Oh... and 3g is a software upgrade so people who buy this phone will not have to buy another one to get 3g.

What's this about a court ruling? Do you have links for us?

Not, 3G but Qualcomm's chip, Nokia makes 3G handset but they don't use Qualcomm's chip (further proof with the suit against each other). 3G is no just a software upgrade (In most cases), the handset has to offer/have HSDPA connectivity and WCDMA support to be 3G.

I understand that it is not a simple software upgrade and that you actually need the hardware... I figured I could forgo that bit in my post because you would assume that "apple has the radios for both in the phone now"

And Qualcomm has filed to get Nokia to stop producing GSM chips.

Oh definitely, it's old news, Nokia fired back with its own law suit citing patent infringement, its been on for years now. The suit is not against the production of GSM chips (GSM originated from europe).

Is that true that 3G is a mere software upgrade? i thought it needed new radio inside for that.

From my understanding the iphone has a radio that is capable of both (there are phones that can run both now and gracefully degrade depending on service availability) but it is deactivated by software at the moment.. perhaps because of this 3g chip lawsuit.

Recently the ITC banned the import of 3G chipsets made by Qualcomm because Broadcom filed a patent suit against them. Qualcomm chipsets are used in CDMA 3G phones used on Sprint and Verizon's networks. The ban does not affect 3G phones used on AT&T or T-Mobile's networks. Unless the iPhone already has a "3G" radio/baseband installed it won't be magically software upgradable to use 3G on AT&T's network.

as to the radio... that is exactly what I am saying I have been hearing.

as to the effect on the industry. I have not heard anything regarding a discrimination in the standards for new handsets.

All my sources have said "ban on new imports of 3g phones."
