Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I live in fear that my DirecTV Tivo will die someday, and I'll be stuck with a DirecTV DVR (not the TiVo, but their own brand DVR). I virtually guarantee that if my DirecTV TiVo dies, I'll buy one of these new guys to replace it. It is hard to overstate how impressed I have been with my TiVo experience. Vastly superior to anything else out there.
I'm guessing the only product with a similar high user satisfaction would be Macs.

Same fear here. I'm getting the DirecTV DVR for my bedroom this weekend but I'm really not looking forward to it. I really wish DirecTV and TiVo would kiss and make-up but I've given up hope on that. I'm certain DirecTV makes more money from leasing their own box than they got from their deal with TiVo. I'm thinking of hacking my DirecTiVo unit to put a bigger hard drive in it, but I'm fearful of screwing it up and having to get their DVR to replace it. My wife would kill me, and she assured me she would make it a lingering death. The only reason she agreed to get their DVR for the bedroom was so we wouldn't have to watch tv in the den. We rarely watch "live" tv and don't like sitting through commercials even on our favorite shows.
