Excellent news! I'd be glad to help monitort local Fox ads--it's the ONLY reason I'd watch FOX News.

It's ineffective, I know, but I already boycott Fox advertisers. It would be better to do it in an organized, collective way. Make a list and post it, please!

We just got some wonderful news! One of our readers received a letter from Lowe's saying their ads will no longer appear during The O'Reilly Factor. We have not gotten any details yet but we'll keep you posted. Here's the letter below.

Dear Lowe's Customer,

Thank you for your comments regarding the program, The O'Reilly Factor.

Lowe's has strict guidelines that govern the placement of our advertising. Our company advertises primarily in national, network prime-time television programs and on a variety of cable outlets.

Lowe's constantly reviews advertising buys to make certain they are consistent with its policy guidelines. The O'Reilly Factor does not meet Lowe's advertising guidelines, and the company's advertising will no longer appear during the program.

We are dedicated to providing the best service, products, and shopping environment in the home improvement industry. All three of these are very important to our business, and our customers will always be our number one priority.

We appreciate your contacting us, and hope this information addresses your concerns.

Thank you,
Lowe's Customer Care

This crusade will be interesting. France finally has come to America and decided to fight back.

Hi Chindi. haven't travelled in your circles here for a awhile. I was making an oblique effort to state that finally after all these years of similar efforts at Fox News to boycott or impact liberal initiatives, including the boycotts of the French, Kos is leading an effort to return the favor. I considered my succinct comment to be brilliant not confusing.

How are the French a liberal initiative?

Yea we can't have things like free speech anymore.

If you want Fox to declare that it is conservative (Which is in the article as a condition of not boycotting them) are you all going to support all the other media to declare its liberal bent?

I just love how freedom needs to be protected, until you start losing the battle of ideas.

@space guy
I've said it before, I will most likely say it again: If you want to see just a few reasons many of use despise the channel, watch the biased but full-of-facts Outfoxed. It will probably change your perspective on things.

losing the battle of ideas?

I'm having trouble finding any ideas conservatives have come up with. "@!$%# you jack I got mine" is not an idea.

As for defending racism, bigotry and unrestrained greed, we have freedom to protect society from those base animal instincts, not to encourage them. I suppose if you call those things "conservative ideas" you would have to agree that disease, pestilence and tooth decay are "conservative values" since they eat away the body the same way "conservative ideas" eat away the soul?

However, I forgot. Conservatives like to hang on to traditions, like prostitution (David Vitter), murder (whoever shot Pat Tillman in the head and then got Bush to cover it up by claiming "executive privilege"), racism (Trent Lott), graft (Dick Cheney), suborning treason (Cheney again), shooting people in the face and then laughing about it (Cheney again), accepting bribes (Duke Cunningham, Tom DeLay), giving bribes (Jack Abramoff), perjury (Scooter Libby), lying to Congress (Alberto Gonzalez) and stealing elections (Karl Rove). Nothing like that old-time religion, is there? Hail Satan! Hail our GOP Lord and Demonic Master!

When you think about it this way, Fox News is not just a provider of "ideas" that smell. It is the Voice of Beelzebub! Small wonder advertisers are peeling away.

This doesn't really have anything to do with freedom of speech. These groups aren't advocating through this action that the government restrict the ability of Fox and it's "journalists" to say what they want. However, Fox News isn't entitled to receiving money for their journalism either. Putting economic pressure on the news network is a function of capitalism, and really has nothing to do with government censorship (which is what "free speech" is all about).

Funny how the far right endorses a free market until one of their won gets caught by it.

Alright! And please, everyone, see that related article on Fox news errors where they keep flipping the party ID on misbehaving members of Congress. ("Flip the Party" is in the title) Why anyone still takes this network seriously is a puzzle. It's OK if you are watching for laughs every time they make an error, because it's kind of like watching a parody of a news broadcast. But any high school or college class could put on a parody show...

Laf

That happens all the time on CNN in the other direction. What is good for the goose.....

From threatening to destory the careers of global warming "deniers", to seeking decertification of meteorologists who "deny" AGW, to this move.

You people are so clueless about what freedome is that when you do lose it you will rejoice.

space, is it? I've seen the screenshots from Fox News, but never the flipside from one of the other news networks. Do you have a link?
