What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This sounds like a great idea, but it also seems like there's a lot of room to misuse this. Can you imagine how easy it would be to put "toilet taps" on individual homes?

This is just a disturbing idea. I'm going back on septic!

Mmm... no I can't really. How easy would it be? They wouldn't have to rip up the road? And then how would they collect an aggregate sample of my wastewater without having a large reservoir?

They might just collect it from the sewer on weekends.

Let's get serious and drug test everyone, everyday. Law abiding Americans won't mind, since they have nothing to hide. It's the only way. Onward to Victory!

    Sounds like a good idea.

Hell, while we're at it, let's let insurance companies and healthcare providers in on the data too. Charge the zipcodes with the most fat consumption more. Charge the zipcodes with the most prescription medicines more. Bring it!

I think you might be right, not to mention trying to get a warrant to do that.

Warrants don't seem as important as they once were.

So let me get this straight: they can not only tell what a community is using, but how much, and how that volume shifts over time?

This may be the most powerful tool to measure the drug supply yet! Where can I get the data?
