Along with the dogs, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department found a large cache of weapons in the raid. DMZ, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was reportedly not at home during the raid, KPNX-TV reported.
In 2002, Simmons pleaded guilty to the cruel treatment of 13 pit bulls in New Jersey. He avoided jail time by agreeing to make a public service announcement against animal cruelty.
