Funny thing about all the Leona Helmsley stories is that none of them really bothered me one way or the other until I read one that said she would cheat at backgammon. Everyone has things that are important to them I guess.
Have a nice day,

I would rather my dog get my money, they're more trustworthy. What will happen to the money when he dies, though? He can't write a will.
This was the first positive article I've ever read concerning Leona and it has changed my opinion about her considerably (for the better).
Leona looks like Jack's version of The Joker from Batman in that shot. Freaky deaky.
Good observation, hadn't noticed.
Thanks for the laugh,

It did give the New York Post (I know, not the most respected newspaper) a chance to use a "Rich @!$%#" headline.
Just imagine all the good 12 million dollars could do, for example it could be the start up money for a half way house. I can understand her love for Trouble, but not imparting that much money to her beloved pet. I am sure Trouble won't know the difference.
It was her money, so she had the right to do with it whatever she wished. A bit strange granted, and no argument that it could have been out to perhaps "better" use, but to her, it was the best way of using it. What constitutes "better use" for one may not be so for another, that's why we get to write wills. Can you imagine if now we decided that multi-million dollar fortunes are to be doled out not under wishes left in a will but some third party deciding what the best use of the money is?
Aloha,

It is true, it was her money to be used with as she saw fit. However, there are situations in which better use is not an opinon but a fact. It is a fact that the money can be in a more compasionate way. I understand the need to wills and the face that it is her money, however the twelve million dollars could have done more good to an imperverished community rather than a dog that does not understand the concept of money or value. You need to look at it in that perspective.
