I was taught all kinds of dreadful Hindi swears but it has so many consonants and my linguistic skills are so poor that it was only a few years ago that I discovered that for over 30 years I had been referring to my worst enemies as "a pair of shoes" rather than the something quite awful intended (and my instructress had of course kept me innocent of this the whole time!)

I guess it was 'do' for pair; possibly 'champal' for shoes. Now I'll be trying to work out what it was you wanted to say all along.

Actually, Raat ki Raani, I was being a bit prim and devious for the sake of politeness, it wasn't exactly a pair of shoes.
