Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

    Hugger's Creed

We believe HUGS nurture the human spirit promoting a more positive outlook thus enhancing the quality of one's life.

    I found this quote here.

    Hugs for Health!

The fact that children still want to hug in middle school is a good thing; the fact that they crave it so much that they are late for class is indicative of the fact that they clearly don't get hugged enough. While promptness is important to learn, so is compassion. This principal is out of line. Simply enforce the existing tardy policies, no exceptions and kids will find other time to hug. Banning hugging is an overreaction and more indicative of the principal's lack of creative approach to problem solving. Maybe she's not getting enough hugs! Perhaps she should go to the airport or attend a family reunion. What a rip!

            I'm proud of this school.

We should definitely be promoting as little touch as possible. In fact, lets just make everyone avert their eyes from each other as they pass. Even better - let's give everyone their own isolation booth and just allow them to interact over the internet or by text.

            Sounds great, right?

Oh - and here's an old article I wrote on this very subject.
