Clinton's lead over Obama has narrowed in Maryland since a Washington Post-ABC News national poll conducted late last month. In that poll, Clinton led Obama 53 percent to 20 percent. Maryland's presidential primaries are scheduled for Feb. 12, by which time many analysts expect candidates from both parties to have secured the nomination.

The Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone Oct. 18 through 22 among a random sample of 1,103 Maryland adults. The results from the full poll have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
