WELLINGTON — Icelandic singer Bjork attacked a newspaper photographer shortly after she arrived at New Zealand's Auckland International Airport on Sunday, local media reported.

Bjork, who is in the northern city of Auckland to perform at the Big Day Out concert on Friday, tore "New Zealand Herald" photographer Glenn Jeffrey's shirt after he photographed her arriving at the airport early Sunday, he told news agency New Zealand Press Association according to a report on Monday.

Jeffrey, a news photographer for 25 years, said Bjork was accompanied by a man who asked him not take photos.

"I took a couple of pictures ... and as I turned and walked away she came up behind me, grabbed the back of my black skivvy (T-shirt) and tore it," he told the agency.

"As she did this, she fell over, she fell to the ground," he said. "At no stage did I touch her or speak with her."

Bjork said nothing throughout the incident but her male companion was saying: "'B, don't do this, B, don't do this,'" Jeffrey said.

Jeffrey said he spoke with Auckland police about the incident later Sunday.

Bjork or a representative were not immediately available to comment on the report.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I think she has a history of assaulting the paparazzi. I vaguely remember a few years back something about smacking some camera jockey or spitting in his face...

She attacked a woman journalist at the airport who said welcome and Bjork went nuts pulling the journalist's hair and trying to beat her. That attack is on youtube and Bjork acts insane.

Welcome to blah blah was all she said, Hong Kong maybe? I kid you not that is all she said. Check it out on youtube. Bjork just lost it.

The publicists came out later and said that Bjork had been hounded for 4 days by the same reporter, which is in itself strange considering she was arriving at the airport from another country. Bjork also later apologised. Who knows?

Some people just don't have much threshold for press badgering. I, personally, think it's pretty funny. The bodyguard did specifically request that no pictures be taken and the ahole went ahead. He got what he was asking for. And the video on youtube. The reporter broad just says "Welcome to Bangkok." and then Bjork beats the crap outta her. Chasencash already stated this broad had been bothering her for four days, so I don't blame her. I'd probably have beaten the tar out of her too. Maybe Bjork really is just Violently Happy, after all.

Violently Happy

Now that has got to be a first ! Not sure I have ever seen those two words together, however in this case, might explain Bjorks enthusiasm about seeing her favorite press person again :-)
