NAIROBI — Police say dozens of people armed with assault rifles and machetes have stormed a village in western Kenya, killing at least 13 people.
The police chief in the area, Bernard Muli, said the dead include a pregnant woman and a 3-year-old child.
It was not immediately clear if the violence was linked to Kenya's disputed election. The region where it occurred is the scene of frequent clashes over land.
The dispute over the Dec. 27 election spawned violence that left more than 1,000 people dead.
