Fla. Presidential Primary Re-Do Unlikely

TALLAHASSEE — The chairwoman of Florida's Democratic Party has said the proposed presidential primary do-over is unlikely to go forward because of concerns about the combined mail-in/in-person election.

Still, Karen Thurman said Thursday she is asking Democratic leaders, the national party and Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton to consider the option as the best way to resolve a delegate dispute. The disagreement was created when the state violated party rules by holding an early primary.

Thurman will review comments from Democratic leaders and make a decision by Monday on whether to proceed with the do-over. But she said based on what she's already heard, it's unlikely to happen.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Since both Clinton and Obama were on the ballot in Florida there is no reason that vote cannot stand as it is and the delegates be awarded and seated without any more delay. Clinton clearly won Florida in a fair election. Only doubt about Florida is that Obama actually ran an ad when all had agreed not to campaign so Obama violated the rules and Clinton still won! Michigan is a little different because Obama chose to take his name off the ballot but ran a campaign to convince voters to vote uncommitted, isn't this campaign violations again? So Obama campaigned to have voters not vote for Clinton. This is still campaigning and was not what was agreed upon. Due to Obama's campaign efforts Hillary only got 53% of the vote and rest went uncommitted. Again Hillary earned the delegates in this state fair and square and Obama's campaigning means he participated in the election. Cut the BS and give the states to hillary without further hesitation or whining from Obama.

I am from MI. Leave it alone. The choices I had when I voted are not the same choices as now anyway. I would only vote undecided now.
