WEST PORTSMOUTH — A house fire that killed a 22-year-old woman and her three young children was arson, the state fire marshal's office said Friday.

The March 7 fire started at the rear of the two-story house in the Ohio River city of Portsmouth. Officials declined to give details on how the fire started.

"We do have some solid leads, and we are asking the public for their assistance," said Shane Cartmill, a spokesman for the fire marshal's office.

Killed were Lisa Rose; Aleia Lynn Rose, 3; Annabelle Rose, 2; and Allison Rose, 11 months.

A passer-by pulled others from the blaze. Three adults remain in serious condition, and investigators said they have not been able to speak with them.
