TAMPA — Deputies at a west Florida jail have transferred Hulk Hogan's son out of solitary confinement into a communal cell.
Seventeen-year-old Nick Bollea is now sharing living space with three other juvenile inmates.
He initially was segregated because he is a minor, albeit convicted in adult court. A judge denied a transfer request from his lawyers on Tuesday.
Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda says housing assignments are routinely reviewed because the jail's population constantly changes. That created an opportunity to house juveniles together.
Bollea is serving an eight-month sentence after pleading no contest to causing a crash that seriously injured his friend.
From what I read and heard on TV this evening he needs to learn some lessons now or we will be reading and hearing to much about him in the future.
House arrest is too good for this kid. House arrest in a friggin' mansion? You've got to be kidding me. House arrest if you're middle class might be a pain, but when your family has their own reality television show, it's a mockery to even suggest that as an alternative. He will learn jack squat if he gets probation.
If he can't live with himself then why should the rest of the world take the weight. They can't put him in with the general prison pop, that's too much i reckon. But there's these things called books. And this thing called sucking it up and not whinging like a baby. 'Unbearable anxiety' that's legalese for 'emotional blackmail' I doubt any judge is going to buy it but his dad's got to spend money for forms sake I suppose.
TMZ.com has been all over this story and claims that the kid and his family aren't even remorseful about causing the accident that seriously injured the young man--while Bollea was drag racing. They're trying to use their weaqlth to manipulate the process, and bad-mouthing the victim's family in the process. Bollea was convicted, now it's time to be quiet and serve his time.
