Report: 'Batman' accused of assaulting mom, sister

LONDON — Batman star Christian Bale was to be questioned by police over allegations he assaulted his mother and sister the night before the European premiere of his film, "The Dark Knight," British media reported Tuesday.

His mother and sister reportedly complained that the 34-year-old actor assaulted them at a west London hotel on Sunday.

Britain's Press Association said they made the allegation at a police station in south England on Monday and that the allegation was passed on to Scotland Yard in London. It said questioning was expected Tuesday.

When asked Tuesday about the news reports, Scotland Yard said it was investigating an allegation referred to it by another police force but refused to say whether the incident involved Bale.

The Sun newspaper said police did not question Bale on Monday because they did not want to interfere with the premiere.

Bale's U.S.-based representatives did not immediately return messages seeking comment. Phone calls to Bale's London representative were not unanswered.

This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Is Christian Bale really a serious psycho? Or just another slightly crazy actor…?

You'd probably snap too if you were expected to lead humanity in an uprising against the machines. All that after having to defend against fire-breathing dragons.

    I mean c'mon.

His mother and sister are most likely sense-offenders.

I can only hope he wasn't wearing a Batman outfit at the time of the alleged assualt, otherwise it would ruin my adoration for this Superhero. And if this assualt turns out to be true, I hope Tobey Maguire beats his ass.

What an interesting time for a complete vague and usless article totally devoid of journalism to bank on the current hype of the new Batman movie.

So his mom and sister might have told police he assaulted them....no details on just what they mean by "assault" there, and no context either.

It was apparently not so bad as to warrant actually going to talk to him about or anything, in case it was inconvenient during the day of the premiere, that's either a sign that the police don't consider it a very high priority, or a disturbing looking into how the police deal with celebrity crime....but without ANY details about it, it's impossible to say which it is...
