MEMPHIS — The medical examiner has ruled that the seven people killed in a Memphis house fire Saturday died from smoke inhalation and burns.

The Shelby County Medical Examiner's office said Tuesday that the victims still haven't been positively identified. DNA analysis could take eight weeks.

But relatives say 38-year-old Melissa Poole was inside with four of her children, 18-year-old Deon, 9-year-old Diamond, 7-year-old Dajanique, and 5-year-old DaShaun. They also say her 4-year-old niece Arianna Poole and 1-year-old nephew Rodney Poole were visiting overnight.

Two teenagers and an 11-year-old boy escaped, suffering non-critical burns and smoke inhalation.

Investigators believe the fire was an accident but haven't determined the cause.
