PANAMA CITY — Bay County Sheriff's deputies were forced to use a Taser to subdue an escaped emu named Plop-Plop. The large female bird escaped from a farm last weekend and on Monday, she holed up with some horses and goats in a pen.
When deputies arrived, the emu "went kind of crazy," said Sheriff's deputy Randolph Grob.
The deputies didn't want the bird to hurt itself or them, so the used the Taser stun gun to immobilize Plop-Plop.
The emu was brought to the Bay County Animal Control Center, where she has made a full recovery. The bird's owner is expected to take her home soon.

"Wha'll ah'll be dang tootin' them thar tazeeers is good fur jes about anythin'!"
Someone ought to tazer those cops right in the nads.
Thugs.
Am I the only one who thinks the headline makes for great band name opportunities?
"Plop-Plop the Unruly Emu"? Or even just "Unruly Emu" would be good by itself.
Okay maybe it's just me.
"Okay maybe it's just me."
No, no, "Plop-Plop the Unruly Emu" has a great ring to it...
Don't tase me bro! BUGGGAHHH!!
I thought the headline was a mistake until I read the article, then I giggled picturing a "crazy" getting tazzed.
What is it with cops in FL? I agree that they are thugs. Have they heard of a little division called Animal Control? Did they check with a vet to make sure that they wouldn't hurt the bird? They are just so quick to taser things, I think they should be tasered at least once a day, but just the cops who are quick to use it on someone/something else. This is almost as bad as the bear with the jar stuck on his head! At least the emu gets to live out the rest of its life. I don't see anything funny about this - it's really sad.
Poor Plop-Plop. She goes out for a little stroll and nearly ends up as some badge-wearing bubba's blue plate special? WTF?
taser + emu ≠ fried chicken
