Lindsay Lohan is getting political.
The 22-year-old actress took to her MySpace blog Tuesday to post her thoughts on Republican John McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and the revelation that Palin's unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.
"I've been watching the news all morning, like everyone else — and (I) keep hearing about the issues related to `teen pregnancy.' ... Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place," Lohan wrote.
Lohan suggested Palin "focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden," Democrat Barack Obama's running mate.
The actress, who will guest star on ABC's "Ugly Betty" this season, then put out a plea to parents.
"I think that parents need to recognize how important it is to talk to their children about the things that can result from being sexually active if they aren't protecting themselves (birth control, condoms, etc.)," she wrote.
Lohan's blog has become a sounding board for her this summer. She lashed out at her father Michael on her blog last Thursday, calling him a "public embarrassment" after he said in an interview with E! that Lohan gal pal Samantha Ronson was "using" his daughter.
She's also used her blog to recommend music (Annie Lennox's "Walking on Broken Glass," was a pick) and search for a particular ice cream.
Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, earlier confirmed Lohan had written the post about her father, but did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the latest entry.

(This version CORRECTS last paragraph to clarify Lohan's publict commenting on earlier post.)
She's a twit.
I am so sick of the attacks by the Republican party on everyone from the media to the Democratic party to anyone who asks any questions about Sarah Palin. I guess we're just supposed to except her and not ask any questions because the people who run McCain's campaign in the Republican party picked her and tell us we're sexist if we ask questions. Well, call me sexist if you want to, but I am a now single, white, catholic, working, 43 yr old, baseball Mom who owns my own home. I was President of the PTA for 2 yrs and have opened my own business which I run very well. I have my own story about what my life is like trying to raise a child, work and provide the best education and home life I can for my child. Does this make me qualified to be VP? What my main gripes are is why is it that Sarah Palin and the Republican party are playing the poor me card? We all have our own stories to tell. Many of us have life stories that make Sarah Palin's look like a day in Disneyland. The image I want portrayed by women is that we are tough and can take on anything. Don't treat us differently just because we're women. Hillary Clinton was bashed and looked down upon in the media and by men in general, because in my opinion she was to strong for them. She portrayed a strong image, we watched Hillary be super mom while her husband was in office, put up with all kinds of unfair garbage because she was outspoken, she had opinions on issues, she supported her husband even after all there dirty laundry was aired in public. People came out with the "stand by your man" degrading comments, which the media picked up and threw all over the air-waves and newspapers like piles of dog @!$%#. Because she didn't break down and cry in front of us, showed all of America and her daughter how to be strong and how to carry on with dignity in the face of personal embarrassment and hardship, How to rise above the bad times. Hillary was made fun of, belittled and degraded for how she handled things and her strength was still mocked and looked at as a negative during these 2008 elections. Shame on all of you that acted this way! As for Sarah Palin, we're being told not to talk about her family, don't ask questions, her story, her story. The press is sexiest and out of line, the democrats, and so is anyone who doesn't talk about her with sunshine and light. Give me a break. First of all, when Palin accepted McCain's offer to run as VP, she threw her family and her kids into the lime light and scrutiny of the press and the American people. Secondly, if McCain had picked a man for VP who has such extremist views on creation, abortion, gun control, sex education, drilling, the economy, the war ect., and it came out a few days later that his male pick for VP had a 17 year old pregnant daughter, no one would call anyone else sexiest for stating that here's a person who's views are 100% for abstinence and against sex education and yet the message isn't hitting home obviously. So why is it that we can't say the same thing about Sarah Palin because she's a mother and a woman? WHAT??? Her family situation with her daughter goes directly against her views on abstinence. So why can't we talk about it. We should be able to point out and question any ones views that turn out contradictory when a situation arises for either party. But least of all, whether we speak about an issue of not should have nothing to do with what sex or race you are. If you don't want your family issues aired in public, then keep the family out of the public eye. In one day, everyone was bad, don't talk about the children, even though the questions about the children were really about the mothers, who is the VP candidate on the Republican ticket, values and stance on the matter and is the absitnance speech really enough with your kids? Yet, the same day every photo op that Sarah Palin and the Republican party had, they stuck the kids in the pic's and even flew in the boyfriend to put a face on that story as well. But please bad press and bad people of America, say nothing about the situation. GIVE ME A BREAK! I'm sick of hearing about her life story. Can you say "it's the issues stupid?" I want to here about the issues, what is going to be done about them in detail. I want to hear a laundry list of peoples records, contradictions in those records from what they are stating and I want all this whining and hands off stuff taken out of the campaigns. Like it or not when you throw yourself and your family in front of the American public, your free game. Come on people this is politics, tell me what your going to do for me and how your going to do it. I don't care who you are, whether you've gone to war or not, what the color of your skin is or what your sex is. Lay it out for me. Where are you on the issues and your beliefs and how do you plan on getting if done? If they are in line with my issues and beliefs you might get my vote. Again, this is politics, get on to the issues and if you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion regarding Sarah Palin, but do you really value the words of the likes of Lindsay Lohan? What I am sick of, is Hollywood stars putting their two cents in politics as if they were someone on whose every word I should hang. When I want to see pretty people in fictional movies, acting, that is where I would like to see them. I would like to hear their opinions on acting ability or disability of other actors, etc. Keep your politics to yourself Hollywood!
What I posted has nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan or any other person in Hollywood. I actually wrote this and have it posted on my page as an article. I just posted it here because I found the Lindsay comments through another link and as I read the article, I agreed that it should be about the issues and lets get off the my life story which we all have. What do you stand for and how do you plan on getting it done is all I want to know from all of the parties candidates. I feel I have a good idea from the Dem's and no info from the Repubs. Can't wait to see the debates honestly. Maybe we can get rid of the "stories" and get to the issues. Since I had already written my opinion on my page earlier, I decided to copy it and post it here as my response......end of story...lol
