NORTH FOND DU LAC — A 54-year-old man says his obsessive-compulsive disorder drove him to eat 23,000 Big Macs in 36 years. Fifty-four-year-old Don Gorske says he hit the milestone last month, continuing a pleasurable obsession that began May 17, 1972 when he got his first car.
Gorske has kept every burger receipt in a box. He says he was always fascinated with numbers, and watching McDonald's track its number of customers motivated him to track his own consumption.
The only day he skipped a Big Mac was the day his mother died, to respect her request.
The correctional-institution employee says he doesn't care when people call his Big Mac obsession crazy. He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.

And he's still alive? All those chemicals in Big Macs must be preserving him!
/sarcasm Don't eat fast food, I haven't in years and years now
I want to see a picture and a comparative scale as to intake vs weight gain. How funny, where do I buy one of those obsessive/compulsive disorders?
He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.
Say no more.
I've seen him interviewed. He has a weird/skinny body.
It's the highlight of his day? Reminds me of a junkie I used to know.
Me too! I've seen this guy on a TV show highlighting his addiction to Big Macs and he is very skinny.
If I remember correctly he has salt and pepper hair kind of long and looked like a hippie although he wore jeans and t-shirt.
Didn't someone one say all things in moderation? lmao
Good for him! LOL!
My twins have NEVER been in a MacDonald's and never will be.
"My twins have NEVER been in a MacDonald's and never will be. "
Thats border line child abuse! Twice! LOL
"Billions and billions served".......mostly to him.
Let's see.....23000 burgers in 36 years....approx. 638 per year.....approx. 53 per month....approx. 13 per week....which only comes out to just about 2 a day. Well, when you break it down like that it ain't all that special, is it? Mwahahahaha!!!
Assuming a starting price of 49¢ in 1967 and a linear increase, yearly, to $3.57 in 2008 and 638 Big Macs eaten every year, Don Gorske has spent $52,353.50 on Big Macs. Or $83,798.25 in 2008 dollars.
From the looks of him they don't seem to be doing him any harm. There are plenty of people who do much worse to their body than eat a couple Big Macs every week.
The man is in a walking advertisement not only for McDonald's (that he's still alive after digesting that many Big Macs) as well as the movie: The Number 23 (starring Jim Carrey). Amazing.....
Eating a Big Mac's is like drunk sex with an ugly girl, before you do it, it seems like a great idea, once it's done your disgusted with yourself and want to puke. However once your done with the Big Mac it's gone and doesn't want to cuddle.
I agree wolfman. A man with no vices would be truely boring. We need drunk sex and Big Macs to keep love alive. To hell with living an extra few years on life support. Just live!!
it could have been worse - "white castles"?
