Home Depot plans price cuts to bring back shoppers

Home improvement chain The Home Depot Inc. says it plans to temporarily cut prices on up to 1,200 items in stores during a three-week rollout to bring customers back to its stores. The discounts — between 5 percent and 50 percent — will last through at least through the next quarter.

Here's a sample of the items being discounted:

— Homer paint bucket. Was $5.00; now $2.78.

— Home Depot brand lawn and refuse bags. Was $2.10; now $1.56.

— R30 unfaced insulation roll. Was $23.50; now $15.31

— Rite Temp seven day programmable thermostat. Was $42.94; now $39.93.

— Stratford brushed nickel ceiling fan. Was $89.97; now $69.00.

— Behr Premium Plus flat enamel paint. Was $22.98; now $19.47
