BUCHAREST — It's one way to celebrate your 74th birthday — open your "Fall Tour" before 10,000 enthusiastic fans.

Leonard Cohen sung hits such as 'Dance Me to the End of Love,' and 'In My Secret Life' in a three-hour concert Sunday at a stadium near Bucharest's Arc de Triumf.

Fans sang "Happy Birthday" in return.

Cohen's melancholy songs resonate strongly with Romanians. Tickets sold out weeks ago.

His next concerts are in Vienna on Sept. 24th and 25th. Cohen began a tour this summer, his first major one since 1994.

Earlier this year, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Madonna and John Mellencamp.
