Gore toasts Obama at fundraiser

NASHVILLE — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama switched from debater to fundraiser Tuesday night, making a brief appearance at a late-night gathering at Al Gore's Tennessee home.

Organizers said between 300 and 350 donors attended the event that raised about $900,000. Obama spoke mostly about his admiration for Al and Tipper Gore in his four-minute speech to guests who had paid at least $2,500 each to attend.

"One simple commitment and pledge that I'll make to you: That should we have the great honor of serving as president and first lady, that these are a couple of people we will be continuing to consult," Obama said of the former Democratic vice president.

"I can't think of two people who have been two more extraordinary citizens of the Unites States of America and of the world," he said.

Gore, who suffered a bitter defeat in the 2000 presidential election, was also brief in his introduction of Obama.

"I am so excited about what is lying ahead for our country," Gore said. But he cautioned that "We can't take anything for granted. We've got a lot of hard work to do."

"But ladies and gentlemen, I take such pleasure and pride in saying these words: The next president of the United States of America, Barack Obama!" Gore said.

An eight minute primer on African tribal politics? You're serious, right? I don't wish to make light of atrocity. But only someone like Palin's pastor could explain a situation like that. And frankly I doubt his impartiality.

One day back in the '90s George H. W. Bush had both Sheikh Osama (yeah that one) and Mullah Omar (yeah that one too) discussing an Afghanistan pipeline deal in Bush's Houston office. It doesn't mean our former president was plotting acts of terror against American interests. It means his trust was misplaced. It happens. From time to time.

Obama is not erratic as McCain, Check your man out, before rambling.
Obama Priest so what. What of McCain Right Wing Church AND HIS ASSOCIATION WITH THE KKK GRAND WIZARD ; GRAND DUKE. Mc encouraged DUKE to run for office in the late eightie how can you prove that McCain is not a secret member of KKK?
Obamas political associaton not a big deal.  Mccain at the age of 59yrs was brazenly dealing with keating Bros and a lot of unsavory characters.
 Obama has never leaked  any information to a foreign Power, McCain leaked &  leaked secret American Military deployment in Vietnam, and later claimed that torture made me do this, but this goes to show this man cannot trusted.
 So take  your toxic advice and shove it in your...............Mmmmmmmm.
