CLEARFIELD — It took Brad Sciullo 4 hours and 39 minutes to finish a marathon. A meat marathon, that is. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound western Pennsylvania chef is the first person to eat a monstrosity called the Beer Barrel Belly Bruiser: a 15-pound burger with toppings and a bun that brought the total weight to 20.2 pounds.
The mountain of beef is the product of Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, about 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Clearfield.
Sciullo, 21, of Uniontown, said he was surprised he finished the sandwich Monday. "About three hours into it, things got tough," he said.
When asked what possessed him to eat a burger that big, Sciullo said: "I wanted to see if I could."
The burger included a bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, mild banana peppers and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and relish, pub owner Dennis Liegey said.
For completing the challenge in the under-five-hour time limit, Sciullo won $400, three T-shirts, a certificate "and a burger hangover, as I call it," Liegey said.
A heartattack waiting to happen. A 3/4 pound burger is like monstrous...20.2 pounds (including toppings)?...holy bejeezus.
5'11" - 180 lbs vs 20.2 lb cheeseburger, over 10% of his body weight. How is this possible???
Unbelievable...
if he scarfed it in 30 min, then yeah i'd be worried
but if he's got a good metabolism (probably worked out before he got there), i think it's doable within 4 hours.

If by 'doable' you mean 'just barely within reality', I concur.
How much can/do the speed-eater types eat? 20 pounds is ginormous.
And people wonder why much of the world hates Americans?
How many truly hungry people could have been fed?
Holy sheet main! WTF!
ROFL "burger hang-over" *blah*
This place has great food!! We live about .5 miles from this pub and it is one of our favorite places to eat. We have seen many folks try their 2 lb challenge (the roll and toppings make it weigh more) and not succeed. Owner Denny Leigey is a great guy too. People have come from all over the world to dine there and they have been on the food network and several morning talk shows. It's rather amazing because Clearfield is a very small town.

He will be calling Joe the Plumber soon!
The real question is would he do it again? I believe his agent said that would depend on the circumstances$$$$$
While eating there a few years ago my son said to me "you know who that is in the booth next to us?." Turned out it was Malto Mario Batali orange clogs and all! He said he was traveling to visit family and had to stop in to enjoy the food. When I told Denny about it a week or so later he said he never knew he was there. You never know who you might see at the Pub.

Holy ____! Was he able to walk out under his own power?
