Russia's president has sharply criticized U.S. sanctions against Russia's state arms trader.
Dmitry Medvedev says the sanctions announced by the U.S. State Department last week was an attempt to sideline a successful competitor on the global arms market.
He called the U.S. move shortsighted and said in televised comments Tuesday that it wouldn't hurt Russia.
Washington has imposed sanctions on Russian arms monopoly Rosoboronexport along with a dozen of other firms from China, Sudan, Venezuela and other countries for their alleged roles in supplying sensitive technology to Iran, North Korea and Syria.
