NEW YORK — With just a day left until Election Day, Democratic Sen. Barack Obama holds a statistically significant advantage over Republican Sen. John McCain in the race for the White House, according to the final NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll before the election.
Obama leads McCain by eight points nationally among likely voters, 51 to 43 percent, which is down three points from his 53-to-42 lead in the poll nearly two weeks ago.
To put Obama’s eight-point edge into perspective, the final NBC/WSJ survey before the 2004 presidential election had President Bush with a slim one-point lead over John Kerry, 48 to 47 percent.
Bush went on to win that election, 51 to 48 percent.
'A hand that is hard to beat'
“The McCain campaign is going to have to thread the needle to pull out a victory on Election Day,” says Republican pollster Neil Newhouse, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart. “The campaign is facing an uphill battle.”
Hart puts it this way: “The results of this survey say it is going to take more than rain, sleet or snow to derail the Obama express. He is holding all the high cards, and that is a hand that is hard to beat.”
Looking inside the numbers, Obama leads McCain among African Americans (90 percent to 3 percent), Latinos (68 to 27), 18- to 34-year-olds (59 to 38), independents (48 to 38), blue-collar voters (51 to 44), suburban voters (49 to 44) and Catholics (49 to 46).
McCain, meanwhile, has the advantage among evangelicals (78 percent to 19 percent), those 65 years old and older (53 to 40), white men (54 to 42) and white women (48 to 47).
According to the poll — which was conducted of 1,011 likely voters from Nov. 1-2, and which has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points — the respondents seem to have made up their minds in the presidential contest.
Eighty-eight percent of Obama voters say they will “definitely” vote for the Illinois senator, 6 percent say they will “probably” vote for him and another 6 percent say they are “leaning” toward him.
By comparison, 83 percent of McCain voters say they will definitely vote for the Arizona Republican, 9 percent say they will probably vote for him and 7 percent say they’re leaning toward him.
Obama preferred to handle economy, poll says
As in the last NBC/WSJ survey, this poll suggests that Obama’s lead has been fueled in part by perceptions that he would better handle the current economic crisis, as well as voters’ increased comfort with the idea of him as president.
Forty-two percent say they have either a great deal of confidence or quite a bit of confidence that Obama will be able to get the country’s economy back on track. That is compared with just 27 percent who say that about McCain.
In addition, 58 percent are “optimistic and confident” or “satisfied and hopeful” that Obama would do a good job if he becomes president. Forty-six percent said that of McCain.
And what’s more, an equal number of respondents (57 percent) believe that they identify with McCain’s and Obama’s values and background. McCain has always led Obama on this question in previous NBC/WSJ surveys.
“Obama seems to broken through on the values attribute,” Newhouse says. “For the first time in our polling, a majority of white voters believe Obama has a background and set of values they identify with.”

Wildwonderful, how about adding, if you're collecting corporate welfare in the form of hundred-billion dollar bailouts, please stay home, and if you're sending our jobs overseas while getting a tax break, please stay home, and if you're and oil company getting tax breaks while making record profits, please stay home. I could go on.
WILDWONDERFUL,
How about those of us that will pay more in taxes under the Obama plan but feel he is by far the better candidate, can we vote? Your distortion that borders on lies, is that acceptable in your character? By the way you never answered me when I asked you if you made more than $250,000. I answered your questions but you did not answer mine, why is that? You can keep your hate that is something you have to live with, I prefer to be fair to all Americans.
MRT
Love your Posts....very insightful and concise..to the point
Wildwonderful --
Are you perhaps referring to those in the Appalachia? The unmarried mothers living in their side-by-side with four kids from four different fathers...collecting food stamps with one hand and carrying their Bible in the other? I'm familiar with Wild Wonderful West Virginia, and you really should look in your own backyard before spewing your racist hate. Your own neighboring state of Kentucky has a meth problem beyond belief. But for some, manufacturing meth is their way of making a living since there *ARE NO JOBS* in any of those states -- OH, KY, WV! You're a racist. Go away. We all find you annoying.
WILDWONDERFUL- By your reasoning, (drugs), I guess McCain's wife and Palin's son should stay home.
And like the deceased Democrats that will be voting in this election, vote early and vote often.
Women have finally got a shot to get a woman that really has the guts and the brains to do something in the White House and they fell for the Rhetoric and Propaganda the Media and the Dems put out and many will vote for a do nothing Senator from Illinois and a party that cast aside a woman as a candidate. McCain made a great choice in Palin and she has done a great job in Alaska. I guess many have not heard from the left wing media that Palin has an 85% approval rating as Governor, the highest of any sitting Governor in the US.
Abetterlife, excellent post...like most wrong-wing consevatives, they can be easily confused with facts!
Since you know this for a fact why are you not turning them in. Ohio had over 600000 people on a purge list many of them deceased. This was from past Republican administrations. Wonder who the dead people on that list voted for.
RonH - You are demeaning women. Since when does Sarah have any where near that high a rating? Interviews of her supposed friends and neighbors have shown that they have had their eyes open and no longer support her even for Governor of her state. If you love Palin so much it must be because you think McCain might not make it and she will become President.....what a horrible thought.
Now we see the aged old welfare queen dug up from old Newt Reagan and others. Here are the facts folks it a scameroonie... Realize of course these figures are based on average American taxpayers so thes number are way high for people making lees than 250,000
Welfare programs for corporations do not play by the same rules as welfare for people. Welfare benefits for individuals and families are limited by strict eligibility requirements and time limits, while corporations get corporate welfare benefits regardless of wealth or accountability.
…and we already know of the multi billion dollar bailout that American tax payers are in the midst of shelling out to save some of Wall Streets most profitable companies. The largest Government handout in the History of the United States.
Figures are from the OMB
Average pre-tax incomes in 2006 jumped by about $60,000 (5.8 percent) for the top 1 percent of households, but just $430 (1.4 percent) for the bottom 90 percent, after adjusting for inflation, according to a new update in the groundbreaking series on income inequality by economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez. Their analysis of newly released IRS data shows that in 2006, the shares of the nation’s income flowing to the top 1 percent and top 0.1 percent of households were higher than in any year since 1928.
Piketty and Saez’s data series on income inequality, based on IRS files, is uniquely valuable because it provides detailed information on income gains at the top of the income scale and extends back to 1913. [1]
The new data show:
Bravo, Logdump... What the pubs fail to realize is that the bad thing about the internet is that us dems have the means and intelligence to find facts to dispute their misinformation... :-)
Interesting data Log. Too bad the trolls here won't read it. It's all liberal lies, ya know.

what the hell is wrong with you?
decent people want to know.....
just sayin' you stay home
RonH the absolute worst thing that could happen to this country is Satan Palin anywhere near the White House
You -- like Chaos McCain -- assume all women are stupid and mindless and all you have to do is put a women in front of us and we'll go for it'
Palin no longer has a high approval rating -- try 50 / 50 at best - in Alaska -- in case you have not heard she was found guilty of abuse of power; is being tried for expense account fraud; tried to ban books in Wasilla; fires anyone who says no to her.....and now is sporting the people's wardrobe at $150K+
who is going to repay 6-Pack's $25K+ and counting hair and make-up tab? Edwards had to repay the party for $800 in haircuts
fundamentalism -- Palin and her kin -- are mindless, evil and a danger to America and to freedom
fundamentalist believe any means justify their own personal end goals -- they believe they are a sort of super race and can do what they want to when and how they desire to do it -- whether they live in Afghanistan and pretend to follow Islam or live in the US and pretend to follow Christ they are ungodly and dangerous to freedom
fundamentalism is witch hunting
fundamentalism is the antithesis of freedom and democracy
fundamnetalism cannot live in a climate of deep thinking, questioning, high education it can only grow in the darkness of ignorance, fear and hatred
NO THANKS
VOTE FOR FREEDOM
vote for the constitutional law scholar
vote for America and for the world
VOTE OBAMA
When I get my tax break I promise to buy Sarah Palin a box of condoms with it.
without getting into name calling , do you people who THINK you are going to get a tax cut inder obama realize that the projections are based on the current tax base. They are calculated as they stand now WITH the BUsh tax cuts. What you're not seeing is that obama is going to let those cuts lapse, and then his figures go out the window! I will be paying aproximately 4500 more in 2010 than I did last year and I only made 100,000. It seems the majority of the people who are voting obama think there is magically going to be gas in their cars, money in their pockets and a mortgage that can never go under!! It also seems that a great majority of his base is people afraid to go out and make a real mark in this world and want those of us who work harder and harder for our families to also pay for theirs. All I ask is what happens when those of us who actually produce in this country decides there is no reason to make more just to keep the same amount? When I give, it iws from my heart the way it is intended to be not because YOU think I owe you something. Before you vote tomorrow PLease just think about this one great quote from Thomas Jefferson " A government big enough to give you everything, is strong enough to take it away" Please do not be fooled by this fraud. Or, be fooled and say goodbye to the 1st, 2nd and 5th ammendments and most likely Isreal as well.
Wow -- fear and ignorance abounds... This is from the Tax Policy Center(dot)org:
Both candidates prefer to compare their plans to the "current policy" baseline, which would extend the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts and indefinitely extend an indexed AMT "patch"—and collect nearly $3.6 trillion less than under current law over the coming decade. Against that baseline, Obama would raise revenues by about $600 billion over the decade, while McCain would lose $600 billion. But choice of baseline doesn’t change how the proposals would affect the budget picture; without substantial cuts in government spending, both plans would sharply increase the national debt. Including interest costs, Obama’s tax plan would boost the debt by $3.5 trillion by 2018. McCain’s plan would increase the debt by $5 trillion on top of the $2.3 trillion increase that the Congressional Budget Office forecasts for the next decade (see Summary Deficit Table).
The Obama plan would reduce taxes for low- and moderate-income families, but raise them significantly for high-bracket taxpayers (see Figure 2). By 2012, middle-income taxpayers would see their after-tax income rise by about 5 percent, or nearly $2,200 annually. Those in the top 1 percent would face a $19,000 average tax increase—a 1.5 percent reduction in after-tax income.
McCain would lift after-tax incomes an average of about 3 percent, or $1,400 annually, for middle-income taxpayers by 2012. But, in sharp contrast to Obama, he would cut taxes for those in the top 1% by more than $125,000, raising their after-tax income an average 9.5 percent.
I made my vote count a few days ago Obama/Biden I have seen enough missery over the last 8 years and millions with me, the time has come for a total change in the American politics and we are being seen as friends again in most other countries in the world ,we have lost too many of them, besides the economy. And Obama??? well, he is absolutey qualified.
Hey Amazed, It's Israel not Isreal.
Congrats on your salary of last year. I work as an ER nurse with 18 yrs experience. I am recognized for clinical excellence, attendance as well as serving on committees for performance improvement. I am proud of the work I do and I earned 72,000 even with overtime. I brought home approx 1/2 after taxes and insurance so don't you dare talk to me about lack of hard work or initiative. Some of the hard working, God fearing are sick and tired of the rampant disregard that the wealthy have displayed for anyone other than themselves. I exclude Bill Gates from that gross generalization. So not intending any disrespect but your post is not factual nor is it comprehensive. I am only addressing the issue which you introduced but it is why I will be supporting the Obama/Biden ticket tomorrow. Long live democracy.
I wouldn't trust any poll that involves NBC, CBS or ABC. They are so far left of center that makes them totally unreliable. It's more like wishful thinking for the Socialist Left. Obama is the most UNQUALIFIED person to run for the White House in American history. But I suppose you get what you pay for. As for the groaning women who have been @!$%#ing the past 40 years for female representation in the White House... moan no more. You've had the chance to vote for two qualified women and decided to let a black man lead you around by the nose. Sorry, no pity here.
Robert, I challenge you to look at the statistics after it is all over and see whether the polls you villified were really as far off as you claim they will be. Will you really be able to look at them and do a reality check on your fantasies? Do you think that he, and the rest of the rest of the Republicans who have just believed their own lies will be able to do it?
Robert J - In case you hadn't noticed, the poll was conducted by one Republican and one Democrat; by NBC, as well as the WSJ - which is known to be conservative inclined. You destroy your credibility when you refuse to accept the facts that are staring you in the face...................such as Palin, qualified????????
ForTheBreakUp - what an absolutely asinine comment about women!! Really! Surely you can do better than that!!
I challenge you to look at the statistics after it is all over and see whether the polls you villified were really as far off as you claim they will be.
Do you mean like this one from 2004??
"However, when selecting a poll for its predictive value in 2008, one can probably disregard one that still gets 2004 wrong. The CBS poll released yesterday showing an 11-point lead for Barack Obama also picks John Kerry as the winner in the last election"
Robert ...
Even the Fox News Polls have consistently had Obama in front. HTH. Not sure what it is today.
And before you talk about "the Socialist Left" - perhaps you should look at the huge expansion of government (and thus, the amount of money spent) under President GW Bush. You can also look at all the liberties you know longer have, under the same Presidency. Patriot Act, warrantless wiretaps, warrantless laptop searches at the border ...
And also remember that it is McCain who is upholding the idea of bailing out mortgages for those who got in over their heads - if that isn't socialism, I don't know what is.
Robert ~
I think you're right. Obama has turned out to be full of bs...changing his tune and lying about his documented radical agenda.
The "poll" numbers that MSNBC are reporting is a joke. I was just watching the news...McCain is ahead as of last night!!!
To ForTheBreakUp:
You said, and I quote: "Women are born victims and seem to like it that way. THey are voting for their next financial rapist."
TO THE GROUP:
Please help me remove ForTheBreakUp's horrible statement about women.
Group, please click on "inflammitory" on ForTheBreakUp's terrible post.
WOMEN ARE NOT VICTIMS, PERIOD!
WOMEN ARE STRONG AND INTELLIGENT.
PERIOD.
To MSNBC: Please take a look at ForTheBreakUp's post. Thank you.
baja don't waste you time with the bigotry from this idiot. He is just trying to get a response out of anyone, so he can have an excuse to answer back in his abusive manner...apparently that's what makes people llike him happy. The hate mongers are desperate and will say anything in the last throes of their regime. I've even seen people standing up for Bush and saying that he just wasn't prepared to deal with so much!!! Huh??? Isn't that what a president signs on for??? I don't think he had a clue anymore than Sarah Palin, and lets hope that the bigots will go back to their doublewide meth labs and let Obama do the job that we, the people, have chosen for him...President of the United States!!! Yea!! Also fyi, women and men both choose to be victims or not. I have known many men who were victims of themselves and their ever inflating egos. George Bush falls into that category. He still doesn't think he has done anything wrong or made any erroneous decisions. I believe that he is a classic narcissist, and a victim of bad upbringing. i.e. parents who never told him when he was being an egotistical idiot, and that no one, no matter what, is always right. It's obvious!!! The voters will tell him that he did, and HE victimized the republican party, or was that Rape.....History will decide his fate and the way his presidency will be viewed by future generations. Meanwhile, it's time to move on and heal our nation from these last 8 years of abject failure. The days of King George are almost done, thank God, and I am starting to feel like there is good reason to be hopeful for the good old U.S.A. I know I am not alone in feeling this way!! Get out and vote!! Don't fall for anymore bullcrap! We've had enough. Vote Obama/Biden, and watch our Country prosper once again!!!
Bajagirl, I think you need to look at who is ignoring the facts. The fact is Obama has ZERO experience in any position and he is your candidate for president. At least Palin has experience and the Alaskans think she did a great job; it's really hard to get a consistent 86% approval rating. Those are the facts, try living with them yourself.
Greg, and McCain has experience...crashing jets and getting through a navy career as a legacy? Palin, it took her 5 colleges to finally get a degree. To think that he or she compares with a Columbia and Harvard scholar, a grass-roots organizer who chose politics over multi-million dollar Wall Street job, who was one of the few people who recognized from the start the Iraq was a mistake, who spelled out an international policy that McCain ridiculed and Bush finally embraced doesn't rise to the level of ridiculous. You may not like his policies, but I personally don't want another Bush moron in the WH.
Also to ForTheBreakUp:
I still cannot believe the terrible things you said about women, calling them victims and saying they are asking to be raped (financially or otherwise).
Let me ask you this, ForTheBreakUp:
Would you say those terrible things about YOUR MOTHER, YOUR SISTER, YOUR DAUGHTER?
Women are intelligent and capable, and not victims, NOT IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
Greg, here is an interesting and intelligent post from another comment line.

Comment: To all of the conservatives out there who think that Obama is a flaming liberal, I would like to remind you of what he did when he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review. The Law Review President gets to name ten individuals to write articles for the Review, and these ten people get to control the content of the publication. All of the minorities and the liberals thought they finally had it made, that Obama would appoint ten left wing editors. Instead, Obama appointed three conservatives, three liberals and four moderates. That year the Law Review was critically acclaimed as the best run and best written Harvard publication in decades.
So when he wins in November, conservatives don't have to freak out. Obama is a centrist and will appoint a balanced cabinet full of active people who will really get things done. Kind of like the way our multi-cultural society is supposed to be. And exactly what we need in this time of economic crisis.
Shows wisdom, and understanding, don't you think? It's part of his experience. Lincoln had little or no national experience, but he had wisdom and understanding.
catamaran- You are right. He will govern as a centrist. He knows that if he doesn't, he'll be gone in four years. I think he'll be a great president, hopefully like Bill Clinton without the sleaze.
BTW-All polls show Obama ahead by anywhere from 3-8 points. Pollsters make their money by being accurate. The smallest lead is in the Investors Business Daily poll, which was supposedly spot on last election. There is no publication further to the right than IBD.
Lets's put GWB back for another 4 years - you really think the scarecrow has a brain?
Bill Clinton a great president? Can you say NAFTA and goodbye American jobs hello Mexican jobs?
Robert.............it's all about race isn't it? Are you still bemoaning the outcome of the Civil War? Let it go..............grow up.
Sandwiched between 3 Republicans who historically did more harm than good.........I'd say, yes.............Bill Clinton was an excellent president.
Robert, we women did not want "a" woman in the House, we want a woman who isn't a joke and supports women's rights!! Palin's nomination was wrong from the start to the majority of women because McCain merely chose her to try and get American women to fall in line. Dumb mistake. Her ideas would have set our daughters back 50 years! No thank you. We've worked hard many years to get THIS far just to give it all back.
The GOP set the tone for her campaign when they started wearing t'shirts and buttons bragging about their "hot" candidate. Dumb move. She then lost any respect that is due a candidate and the jokes began. She was kept away from interviews which made everyone curious as to who Sarah Palin was, thus the real vetting began. When she finally ventured out, people became aware of her qualifications and decided which way to go with the republican ticket.
No one rejected Hillary, this simply wasn't Hillary's time. You know, a lot of women don't like Hillary either. We don't vote by gender--we do have brains that we use. If it were meant to be, she WOULD HAVE HAD the majority and would have been the nominee. And Obama was within his rights to chose any person he felt would be right to be his running mate..that spot is not guaranteed to the runner up!
Please note that Palin has the support of a number of officials in NOW! They see what some of you "women" who have a single issue you call the "womans" issue and that would be abortion.
Sarah irks you because she had the courage to give birth to her little down's syndrome baby instead of throwing him in a trash can to gasp out his little life without the comfort of human love like the little late term babies born alive that Obama voted to leave alone to die an agonizing death gasping for air when he voted against the born alive act in the Illinois Senate.
The women of NOW who support Palin see that she hasn't just cracked the glass ceiling (thanks to Hillary for the big crack in that ceiling--appreciate her for what she has done for us) but Palin shattered it for all of us to move forward through if we will only take the opportunity.
Why fight against her--because of abortion, I know! It is only one of women's issues. I am much more concerned about being treated as an equal by men, of equal pay for equal work. Of respect whether we choose to burn our bras or wish to look beautiful like Governor Palin does.
She is a beautiful woman, a mom, a successful role model for our girls and if she chooses to wear mascara we should cheer for her right to be an individual and wear heels and mascara and pretty clothes! Somehow women's rights has decended into women's right to look dowdy, have abortions and wallow in the muck. Glad to see someone more like all the women I actually associate with be the one who leads us through the hole in the glass ceiling.
Shame on you! Women are not that cold hearted. Most abortions could be prevented if women didn't get drunk or do drugs and get stupid. There should be exceptions for health and for rape and incest, but otherwise, women should keep their legs together and a huge number of abortions could be done away with. Too many want the freedom to be reckless without the natural consequences that come with that reckless behavior.
As I see it Sarah supports women's rights. Our right to be equal to men in the political arena (power is everything for women and men). Our right to look beautiful if we wish and not if we wish. Our right to bear children that others think should be aborted and our right to bear arms and hunt moose or protect ourselves from rapists.
I was proud of Hillary and I'm equally proud of Sarah--the new generation who stands on the shoulders of the Hillary's of the world to gain even more for us women of all kinds, shapes and colors.
3.2 deleted, misogyny.
Robert J., you might want to try FiveThirtyEight.
MRT....At least we can say he gave it all to his country-what has Obama given?
and the sad part is what is he going to give us-if we judge him on his scummy friends who are either crooks or Anti-American the only change we are going to get is
The WRIGHT CHANGE...BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR YOU MIGHT JUST GET IT.!!
Marie,
your post sells women way too short. those who have rejected her have done so because she is not ready for this office. She has essentially no foreign policy. No economic understanding other than 'it's all about job creation". She was a Sunday night surprise and it showed. To state that women reject her on her stance on abortion is disrespectful to women who have more on their minds than their womb.
Sarah Palin should be admired for the care of her special needs child. Ashame she and her running mate don't want to fund those who are less fortunate to be able to take care of their special needs children.
Don't believe the polls - go vote.
Fear tactic is at its best. I, however, think polls are way too wrong this time and McCain will win. People who say they are undecided would not actually say that they would vote for McCain as somebody would ask them what was great about last 8 years. If Bush can win twice, then I fear McCain will win too.
The only fear I have is Obama...
sure hope he proves all of us who thinks he is not ready to be president wrong...I guess with 3,000 advisors he should be getting something RIGHT OR WILL WE ONLY CHANGE OF THE WRIGHT....
Im voting for the educated one!
I voting for experience and morals.
Lenin and Trotsky were highly educated.
I'll go with experience and morals too! Obama 08!
What experience? What morals?
To Kobold:
I agree, I would like an intelligent president for a change.
To buckster:
Have you enjoyed 8 years of a DUMB president who has had experience?
Let's talk about education.
McCain graduated 894 out of a class of 899 at the Naval Academy. McCain did not qualify for West Point.
Compare McCain to Obama's education, and remember this: Obama put himself though college and finally paid off his student loans from his book sale money just last year.
Obama:
Barack Obama attended Occidental College, but received his undergraduate degree in political science from Columbia University, an Ivy League member currently ranked 9th in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Obama also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard Law School, where he also served as President of the Harvard Law Review. Harvard Law School is ranked the best Law School in America.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Which_college_degrees_does_Barack_Obama_have
PLEASE, NO MORE DUMB PRESIDENTS.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08
BUT ONLY IF YOU GET OUT AND VOTE!
I don't see Obama as smart. I see if as slick. And Biden is a blooming idiot. I definately don't want him as president.
What experience does Obama have to lead this country and to lead the military?
Biden is an idiot? Your fine with Sarah "Phailin" as president? Who's the real idiot?
McCain has bad experience and uses it badly. Twentysix years in the senate and he's still making the same stupid mistakes. I'll take Obamas experience as a community organizer, a constitutional scholar and an aggressive member of the US House.
Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilot was a governor - who was the better leader? Martin Luther King was community organizer, Lester Maddox was a governor - who was the better leader? I'm not making a comparison here, other than experince doesn't matter, it's what you learn from it and how you apply it. McCain has learned little and applies less.
McCain is McSame.
Some constitutional scholar; he wants to erode the rights guaranteed to us by the constitution. Do yourself a favor and look at his voting record while at the state level and you will see what he really wants to do to our constitution.
The Patriot Act has eroded our constituional rights. Obama want to restore our right to privacy, our right to face our accusors, our right to a fair trail. All stripped away by the Patriot Act. Under the Patriot Act, if the president, on any information at all, declares you an enemy, your off to prison with no access to an attorney, not right to trial, no access to information regarding your case.
The Rethug, are good at naming things the opposite of what they really are. The Patriot Act, No Child Left Behing, DOMA.
The evangelical right would rather loose their own homes, send their sons to die in a war for Oil, and abolish the Bill of Rights, rather than let everybody enjoy the same freedoms they wish for themselves.
And all they offer are hate, ignorance and fear.
What experience does Obama have to lead this country
I've got some news for you. Apart from when an incumbent President going for a second term, no prospective candidate ever has experience to lead the country before they get there. The question of testing prior experience doing something else is rather similar to testing the experience of a neural surgeon and asking him/her to build a craft to take an astronaut to the moon. Doesn't work like that.
As far leading the military, perhaps McCain II had experience of leading the military. I believe he led military operations in Nam. Wasn't very successful based on historical evidence. Perhaps McCain III only ever managed to get in the military because of big daddy. But his record is questionable to say the least. Short of frequently crashing his plane (and running away rather than staying behind to save colleagues, etc). He had plenty of experience with that one. Some experience, I'd say.
Actually none of the facts you just said here are accurate. Perhaps hsi "Big Daddy" was a bit upset when McCain had a chance to leave the Hanoi Hilton and he chose to say until his men got out to. That, Raat ki Raani is a leader. That is a President and that is what scares the hell out of democrats.
Choose wisely. Me? I'll take the War hero
Facts? Nah Amber. It was all opinion. When I cite facts, I provide my sources. Kinda helps us all that way.
Sadric Amer, McCain did what virtually every other POW did. That he didn't take the easy way out and disgrace himself, his family and his country is commendable but not unusual. That's not leadership, it's called "do your duty" just like every other soldier, sailor or marine.
Sadric Amber
McCain has admitted out of his own mouth, HE SCREWED UP ON THE MISSION HE WAS
CAPTURED ON...He said he doubt if he even HIT any BIRDS. His Admiral Father is why
he had better treatment than most POW'S....and his video's denouncing Americas
involvement in VIETNAM were tantamount to treason...Go to your nearest Library and
read about the REAL McCain...not the PRESS RELEASE version for this Election
Knowledge is KEY...go get some
P. Snakenburg,
Ignorant is the new intelligent?
To buckster:
Joe Biden is PRO-WOMAN.
See this, from Joe Biden's OWN WORDS:
The single, most important legislative accomplishment in my 32-year-old career in the Senate is passing the Violence Against Women Act. After years of work, countless hours of hearings, pages of expert testimony and Senate floor debate, my Act passed in 1994. The law was renewed in 2000 and most recently expanded in 2005 when I worked to include new measures to treat children who witness violence, to increase housing opportunities and to create dedicated resources for rape crisis centers.

minmn Patriot Act has helped protect us. Obama knows nothing. As a citizen of this Country, I have no problem with that if it means I am safer. Perhaps if we had stronger immigration laws and things like the Patriot Act before we may have been better protected. I bet you resent the airlines and cruise ships screening your bags too.
Flash, I'll go with the words of Ben Fanklin. "He who would give up the least of his freedoms for protection, deserves neither".
As far as better protection, if we had a president capable of reading beyond the 3rd grade level that would help too. I seem to remember a briefing paper titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in the US". It outline possible plans to hijack planes and crash them into buildings. Bush didn't read it, thought the title too vague.
And yes, I do resent the airlines screening my bags.
I would rather have them screen my bags and every other passengers too! We live in difficult times and sometimes, our enemies don't always play by our rules, so please keep screening my bags at the airports and every other passengers.
Ben Franklin is my hero, but he didn't live in our world and our times. He knew nothing of nukes that could end civilization and of terrorists in our midst that we have let in. Thanks to Lyndon Johnson and his "everyone is equally cool" doctrine that kept us from putting quotas on "undesirables" we now have tons of enemies within our own borders hiding behind headscarfs, burques and Politically Correct doctrines of our own country that shackle our ability to speak the truth.
Now we must balance freedom with security and it is a fine line. Our enemies have been masters at using our own freedoms to end our own and an Obama victory may well seal our fate if he really does end our anti-missile program and cut our military spending in half.
Yea. Im voting for the guy with reason and vision who does give me some hope......McCain...................................................oh ahhh, I mean Obama, forgive me.
Marie Thomson
u dumb ass slut i do work and have been working all my life for one company.I have worked hard and smart all my life but still no advancement.School should not be a deciding factor in any job any one gets.I have 2 science degrees and never used anything i learned in school.Another thing for every one of those immigrants stories i can give you 100 the other way.All Elitists think they work hard or smart, but in reality they have never worked a day in there life. Why are you so scared of socialism? You wnat equality for everyone that is the only way to get it.The thing most important to alot of you dummies is schooling which i might add the most useless skill in the world, except for game shows.Every company you go in you still have to be trained to do it there way.Marie you being a women probably get preferential treatment in school, and a work place which means you were less qualified to earn your position.
I know socialism will take away all your advantages, along with the eltists.Hell any one could get a decent job if things were handed to them based on gender, race or religion.
Hail socialism,and down with capitalism
Capitalism rewards the lazy or as marie says the ones who work smarter.alot of people dont have a chance to work smarter companies want you to do it there way or the highway.I hope for your sake and any one who is in it that the stock market crashes and you guys are left with nothing then lets see who has there hands out for a hand out.
minmn - Obama has never been an agressive member of the US House. He has never seved in the House. He is a Senator and certainly not agressive. If you are agressive you go after something. He likes to dodge the votes, lest he offend someone when he decides to further his political career.
Polls are not to be trusted and they never truly convey what the American people are really thinking.
LOL - you don't trust them unless they reflect how YOU believe. Really now. Would you be saying this if they showed McCain to be ahead?
buckster........what would call your role models Bush, Palin and McCain? Bastions of progressive intellectualism? How about Minions of Mediocrity?
The majority of American people do not think...................they respond to negative hearsay just like most Republicans do.
How about the fact you're voting in a socialistic terror backing, industry crushing tax and spend large government flag stomping white hating freedom smasher just to send a message you don't like Bush? When the public sees the way we're heading they'll change direction I hope. It will be a real ugly 4 years ahead with Biden/Obama/Pelosi/Frank/Dodd in charge. We'll smash the economy. No one seems to care, yet.
McCain will win! Obama says he will bankrupt the coal industry. Listen up Penn, VA, and Ohio! Obama will lose this election...bet on it! Obama has too many questionable ties to too many sinister folks to be taking a risk on this man. The silent majority will speak on Tuesday and I can't wait to watch the pundits banter about how they got it so wrong.
OBAMA will lose this election!
Let's hope the Bradley effect works twice and brings a downfall to Obummer. We need change but not his programs.
Robert J The Wall Street Journal is owned by the same man who owns Fox News. ( more commonly known as " Fake News " )
Robert J. - there was an independent study done on the campaign. All networks were guilty of showing more negative stories toward McCain than Obama and MSNBC was the worst, with about 74% (McCain) to 14% (Obama). The only one that was "fair and balanced" was FOX, with exactly the same (40% each). You only have to have half a brain to know the media was in the tank for Obama from day one. Otherwise Hillary would have been the nominee. Don't you think it interesting that the Obama campaign kicked three news outlets off its plane and they just happened to be from 3 newspapers that endorsed McCain?
If you haven't voted please vote.... hope it counts...
i am, as i'm sure many others are, TIRED of this campaign. it has completely worn me out emotionally. i have learned things about my family and co-workers that i never wanted to know, and have realized that my fellow americans are not as kind hearted as i had previously believed. with that said, i truly believe that either candidate would do the best job they possibly could if elected, both are good men, one is a little bit too old, the other a little wet behind the ears. i personally do not mind paying a little more in taxes if that means someone less fortunate than me has an opportunity they would not have had otherwise, and i truly believe that is the backbone of this great country that i call home. my final conclusion in this disaster of an election is that i must vote for the candidate that i believe in my heart can bring this divided country together again, and show the world that we ARE in fact the UNITED states of america...Obama brings me this hope, and if it is in fact all a lie, at least i have that HOPE to hold on to, that my children will grow up in a nation where neighbors respect each others differences, and the rich HELP the less fortunate.. i am voting for change- change in attitude, heartfelt change, including proving to the racist fear-mongers that now include some of my closest ex-friends that we are all american, from immigrant to african, to asian, to good ol boy in the delta.. obama 2008..i believe...
Actually . . . he doesn't lead - he's behind. His own camp came out last week and detailed how they have skewed the pools the entire time. Additionally, they are counting the ACORN fraudulent votes.
Honestly, haven't you figured out yet that MSN is lying to you? Sheep!
Be a grown-up . . . vote McCain.
Wowwwwww... I had no IDEA they changed the laws and let ACORN vote early...
You guys need to get some new material... It's OK -- you'll have at least four years to get your act together again!!!
Fradulent ACORN votes? Do you even KNOW what ACORN does? Silly question because it is quite obvious you do not. The number of sinmpletons in this country worries me.
Acorn was investigated in Nevada and a democratic Secretary of State did it. They submitted names falsely and admitted it was a employee trying to make more money, so he submitted false names, like Donald Duck etc. It's still voter fraud. I wonder how many other times this has happened and where were the fraud preventions that should have been in place?
Shellie the Radical, it's simpleton not sinmpleton, when you call someone stupid, make sure you spell it right. I pity you, or according to your spelling ,I pitty you? LOL Did you even graduate form high school?
Shellie--
Yes Fraudulent votes registered by ACORN! This past year here in Washington state ACORN was convicted (7 employees) in the biggest voter fraud case in the history of the state. Yup! That is what ACORN does--register dead people, people from the phone book and names who are just made up by ACORN employees who are just smokin' pot.
There are FBI investigations in many other states--raids of ACORN headquarters in Nevada. Obama was chief legal counsel for this group and affiliated with them when he was a "community organizer" in Chicago. The fraudulent regtistrations of Obama's ACORN minions for Obama could taint the outcome of these elections--
Vote for McCain! He does not encourage the dead to rise and vote (the miracle Obama's ACORN followers foster) nor convicts nor non-citizens etc.
ACORN erodes the legal vote of every American. When our voting system is corrupted our rights are eroded irreparably and our constitution shredded!
Ok Ryan, You are stupid!
Marie, Shellie doesn't care, she is one of those radical liberals that go around telling people they are stupid, for not agreeing with them. We all know the type and she's one of them.
Hey Ryan- after reading some of your "off-the-wall" comments. It's clear to me that you still don't know what you are talking about. Calling people "radical liberals" is no way were going to end the partisan politics that was started by Carl Rove and his hate mongering conservatives. Also, don't blame the media for the previous presidents troubles, that won't cut it either. I've also noticed you like to blame others, which is exactly what McCain is doing other than discuss the issues. I'm sure he learned it from Bush. But when it's all said and done, Barack Obama will be our next president and I'm sure the Republicans will be feeling a little "blue" tomorrow night.
Shellie; we know what ACORN does. They register people over and over and over, they register dead people and cartoon charactors and they endorse Obama.Nuff said....
Illegal voter registration is different from voter fraud. You can register all the dead people and Mickey Mouses you want, but their vote doesn't count because they can't vote. How is a dead person or Mickey Mouse going to walk in and cast a vote? So, your ACORN arguement doesn't hold water. Voter SUPPRESSION, however, is a different story. keeping real people who are eligible to vote from voting does affect the outcome. That is why the repubs use it, it works.
Marie -- maybe if you had read some other seeds in the past, my sarcasm would have made sense to you... The accusation was that a non-profit ORGANIZATION has ALREADY VOTED... As other seeds have pointed out, REGISTRATION fraud is quite different than VOTER fraud... An alive, upright and mobile PERSON going to the polls STILL has to show proper identification in order to be able to VOTE... I've never heard of a whole organization being able to vote en masse... What's more, ACORN and every other organization that is registering voters HAS to report ALL registrations REGARDLESS of the name... It is usually their own internal audits that catch the Donald Ducks and Porky Pigs -- but they STILL have to turn the registrations in... And, again -- I'd really like to see Donald Duck come with a valid I.D. to the polls tomorrow... I wonder if he's as cute in person as he is on TV???
Had enough, what comments are you referring to? The one in which I called Shellie a radical? Radicals call people stupid when they don't agree with them.
If you are referring to the comment on the media tearing down Obama at some point, it was a question I asked, I wanted to know what people thought about it. No partisanship was in that initial question. The past two presidents have been beat up bad in the press. If Obama gets elected, will he get beat up as well, and it has nothing to do with the media being liberal. It is a question. I think you read to far into it. If Obama was elected, I wanted to ask about what was different in the media, towards the president? My thought is it will be the same, just the bantering will be at Obama, instead of Bush, and my point has nothing to do with political affiliation.
If you think Rove is the problem, he is just the contrast to the likes of Pelosi and Reid, making everything a political spectacle.
Don't paint the town blue just yet, we might just have enough red paint to cover.
To all of you that don't think ACORN's fraudulent voter registrations are an issue, the fact that ACORN accepts huge amounts of money from our government is an issue. They should have to pay back every penny they have received. Once they come out in support for one person running for a political office they are no longer non-partisan and they do not qualify for any government funding. They are an illegal organization. I'd suggest that you check out the law but it evident the law doesn't matter to most of you.
ACORN's motto - vote early and vote often!
And you got your law degree from where, Jules??? I (for one) never said ACORN was non-PARTISAN -- I said they were non-PROFIT... Big difference... And if you want to take away their money, can we take away Halliburton's no-bid contract??? Not the same as a grant, I know -- but they didn't quite come by it honestly, either, now, did they???
They are, in fact, supposed to be non partisan. They cannot legally take money from us and use it to promote one candidate. Hlliburton's contracts are an entirely different issue and do have any comparison to ACORN.
If Obama wins they cheated. Cheating is an accepted behavior to a democrat.
Ryan, according to what I have seen in the polls, you might want to check your paint bucket, seems it might be running a little low. Just a thought.
Commonsense- you have no sense, your just like the rest of the conservatives, always placing the blame on someone else other than your own partys failure.
Ryan........ I'll be publicly calling you out on the 'net tomorrow so you can apologize...or more likely you'll claim the Devil or some other such nonsense prevailed.
LOL!!!!!!!!! Go Black Man ! Scare them thar NeoCons!!
Government that is big enough to give you what you want is big enough to take it away. Its too bad the American dream is being destroyed by liberal pimps who make you dependent on them. I keep saying no business can survive when 40% of your clients don't pay. Social Security is a rip off , its taxation without representation. Our schools are dumbing our kids down by the day. In Florida I read yesterday 50% of the kids are A or better students but reading scores go down. No wonder Florida has so much trouble counting votes. America is obese which is a main contributor to our health issues. We are bankrupt because people were too dumb and borrowed money they could not pay back. Wake up America your being pimped by believing in government.
Just answer my question, I am not interested in your hate.
I'm really curious where this "40%" number is coming from and what it represents... According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of American families receiving welfare DROPPED from 5 million in 1993 to just over 2 million in 2000... According to the USDA, the percentage of people receiving food stamps DROPPED from over 70% in 1994 to 60% in 1998... So, FortheBreakUp -- can you provide sources and explanations for your "40%" of people who don't pay???
I have a question for all the nasty little hate filled supposed Republicnas posting.
How do you feel abou all of your "well respected" Republican Icons saints such as Powell, The Buckley's , The Republican White House press secretary, the Goldwater's, and Saint Ronnny's cabinet members and family's (just to name a few) endorsements of Obama? These are all people you simpletons have been worshiping all these years? Are they all suddenly hated in your little minds now as well? Are you true to your party or are you hopless flip floppers that pledge your loyalty depending on which way the wind is blowing today? Do you really believe in your party or are you a mindless simpletons that can't think for your self and only latch on to todays talking points? Answer please, we are all waiting.
Shellie, why are you so angry? I read all your posts from today, and you are so negative and hateful towards others. Relax!
'Ryan'....the lib media has made her feel sorry for her 'spoiled arse'...like they've done with the rest of the lemmings...
Ryan, Why are you so stupid? I have read all your posts today and are you spew such ignorance. Chill out, read a book.
Zorro, Maybe you can read to him. Or are you a simpleton as well?
Shellie the drive by Obama fanatic. Believe in the dream and it still won't happen because it's all lies to get elected. If Bush had an approval of 90% this terrorist backing economy smashing white hating repairation promoting energy bashing foreigner trusting freedom crusher wouldn't be running high numbers. He be just another democrat lost in history like he will be someday too. Nothing great will come of this time in America. Black Wednesday maybe.
WildWonderful. You say that no business can succeed with only a 60% recovery rate.
Well guess what the recovery rate is on health care bills?????Want to know? No you don't cause you might have to recognize that the current state of our economy, government and society is in dire need of change. We already have subsidized health care. Hospitals receive federal dollars for Medicare, eat the non payers and make up the difference on the paying insured. The banking industry is now government subsidized and the rest of the economy is tanking. Education is deplorable unless you can afford private school. No wonder so many people are embracing change. The theivery of the last 8 years have given the middle class very little else to believe in.
It's going to be funtastic when the Republicans lose this election tonight.
Can't wait to see the Spin the biased media puts out on Wednesday when Obama does NOT win. 4 years ago they had Kerry ahead also. McCain/Palin will WIN!!!!
Obama/Biden 08
Kelly....You are obviously waiting for your welfare check from Obama.
McCain/ Palin 08
Actually, I can't wait to see what excuses you use when Obama wins by "mandate" proportions tomorrow. I found the Garrison Kiellor column this weekend very interesting. His repub friends are saying aloud that they're voting for McCain but will be voting for Obama. They worked hard for their education and don't like Obama being vilified because he's educated. Sounds like even the right wingers are tired of having idiots in the White House.
I am waiting for mine too! OBAMA/BIDEN 08!
OUShark & GMM.........I do not need excuses. McCain will win this election.
McCain/Palin 08
Kerry wasn't leading in the NBC/WSJ poll the day before the election, Bush was. And Bush won. Simple.
an 8 pt lead in that poll the day before is a pretty much guaranteed win. every point in the polls represents nearly 2 million people. We're talking landslide here.
ur1bella, would this change your mind?....once a traitor always a traitor:
During the Vietnam war Senator McCain gave information on flight patterns and targets in North Vietnam to the enemy. This information was given in exchange so that he could go to the hospital after his capture. During the time he was a POW he collaborated with the enemy. He is not a war hero. Information given to the enemy may have caused the deaths of US airmen during the Vietnam war.
Some may wonder why McCain went to such extraordinary lengths to conceal his POW record, and the following video interview gives tremendous merit as to why he did. If his POW records were made public he wouldn't be able to make himself out to be the hero he claims to be. Of the nearly 700 POW's who returned from Vietnam, why haven't we seen a stage full of them supporting McCain? Perhaps this is why. Paste the urls below into a browser and watch the videos.

GMM....Sorry, Try Again!
ur1bella....your are sorry and you know your an Obama supporter. go ahead and tell us the truth you won't get bashed. hahahaha welfare trick.
ur1bella --
Put down your crack pipe, Dear. Clear the fog and try to deal with reality. Senator Obama will be our next president. Thank God there are educated, forward-thinking minds in this country. You're a lost, pathetic soul. Go find a cave in Alaska and crawl in it.
LOL.....seriously! Kelly, found out your welfare check wasn't going to cover your bills.
ur1bella: get a life crack head your smoking to much call the rehab. And why are you talking about bills....did the cable company and the water company cut you off already? go and trick for the money graden tool.
WOW Kelly....you sound aliitle ANGRY! You should get yourself some help.
I could never be angry I have all I want in life. You sound angry. Leave the drugs alone and get a real life.
We can go on all day long trick but I don't have the time or patient's to deal with a little girl like you. You kind of remind me of the movie "Girl Interupted" We will call you Dasiy Randone!
If you "patriotic" Americans steal another election,
you will have to answer to the true patriots !
Kelly...Kelly...Kelly You're the only one taking drugs here. Like I said before, get yourself some help SISTER!
ur1bella- I hate to bust your bubble so early, but McCain/Palin WILL NOT win this election. Barack Obama and Joe Biden WILL WIN this election and I guarantee it.
Had Enough......You may be surprised! I voted McCain/Palin today!!!!
ur1bella-there will be no surprises tonight, none whatsoever.
Bend Over America......Here Comes BO!
No that was your grandmother the crack head.
Like we are to believe MSNBC ie: Obama Network, on anything including a poll showing Obama ahead? This thing will go to the wire and a morning AP poll shows McCain ahead by a point!
AP has a huge spread on Obama's 100 point electoral college lead. What poll are you reading? For McSame to win this, he would need to get 100% of the undecides, get all of the swing states to vote for him (Obama has the lead in at least 4 of them) and filp either Ohio or Penn. The corrupt Republican party leadership in Ohio might steal or miscount or not count votes at all. Stealing the election and voter fraud is the only real chance the republican party has. But, they've done that before.
MSNBC ie: Obama Network
Oh, like CNN Clinton news network? Because a network other than FOX reports the truth and you don't agree you try to discredit them with a name, well I guess you prefer the Bush $h*+ network, good luck with that.
FOX News is a farce. I used to like it, but they have gone over the edge. The two biggest liars on TV are Sean Hannity and Dick Morris.
Come back Wednesday with the same comments Mr. Wire Down Man.
ur1bella: sorry dude I don't do the welfare thing but I here your parents did. I think you may need a welfare check. I am well off.
'justchuck' is an upchuck. Welfare under Obama will be pretty lean when you add in the cost of government growth, unemployment checks and 'new energy research'. Throw in lots of pork barrel spending and heaping helpings of corruption and campaign favor paybacks and we'll still well in the red. This will be business as usual for Washington. Suckered in once again. Party time. Let'em eat cake, the dumbasses. Belly up to the bar boys, drinks on the taxpayer. They'll never learn.
I am just curious all you Hussein lovers under what category do you fall? Your wanting something for nothing, come clean and fess up. Is it free health care or welfare or food stamps or free diplomas or do you just want to sit on your ass and collect money for doing nothing.
It is all of the above. They think they have won the lottery with Obama.
My catagory? Small business owner and former republican who is sick and tired of republican rule by fiat. The "uniter" turned out to be a divider, who brought record "big government" and national debt"; two supposedly very democratic symptoms.
John McCain is not the man he once was, hell he pushed what y'all call 'Socialism" not but 4 years ago and didn't have a problem with Rove v Wade. The pick of Palin was a pander to the extreme right, a direction I no longer wish to go in.
I'm casting my vote for Obama/Biden and not really expecting a damn thing in return with maybe the exception of a government that pays attention to the constitution and a leader that has some intelligence as compared to the last 8 years.
There's a little added bonus here for all the haters, the one's that can't get enough of using Obama's middle name. Just think, for the next 4 and probably the next 8 years you're gonna hear, "ladies and gentlemen the President of the United States, Barack Hussien Obama."
I don't want anything for free, I work hard, my wife works hard, and with three children (the youngest in college) we still struggle. What I want is a goverment that responds to the needs of the people, not the corporations. Trickle down was the worst economic policy ever forced on the country. No Child Left Behind, even if fully funded, is the worst education policy ever forced on the country. As a Viet Nam veteran, Iraq is the worst war ever forced on the country, a war of choice not necessity, a war for Oil not democracy. The Supreme court is in danger of becoming a theocratic overlord to the federal goverment. The economy is in shambles because of republican deregulation, and the House and Senate are handcuffed by repulican fillibuster threats.
The republican party has given us fear and hate as reasons to vote against Obama, and given us no reason to vote for McCain. By definition, the republican party has become a terrorist organization.
I am an Obama supporter. I have two (2) degrees, a very good Professional job, never been on food stamps, never been on welfare and I have health insurance. What do you have to say about that?
The thing you never hear from these hate mongers is what they do, have you noticed that? They call the Obama supporters all kinds of names but never tell you what they do. I would guess they are simply paid puppets from the RNC camp.
These intolerant nut jobs are not going to crawl out from under their rocks and actually vote. That would require them leaving the house and interacting with real people.
We are a military family, my husband is currently serving in this war for a country that don't even want us there. We support Senator Obama, in the hope of bringing our troops home and helping the middle class to achieve the American dream, isn't that what America is all about?, equality and the upliftment of its citizens. And by the way a lot of comments seem to say that only minorities are on welfare, where I live in Florida that is the opposite, so please stop stereotyping. All of my friends and relatives voting for Obama do not receive social services, and work very hard to provide for our families. It very funny but frightening to see the desperation of the RNC. WE THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA HAVE SPOKEN, WE WANT CHANGE, AND WE WILL/HAVE VOTE/D FOR CHANGE.
With Palin parading around pregnant high school drop out teens, it looks like the face of the welfare poster child belongs to the republicans.
I am a Doctor voting for Obama, what do you do WILDWONDERFUL? A paid puppet?
Oh stop already! You are just a f**king miserable kook. Go fix those flats on the pick up and maybe you can get it back on the road soon!
WILDWONDERFUL,
Come on wild answer a question rather than just throw out hate and lies. What do you do and where do you live? You see people this is what you have throwing out hate and lies. People who hide like a coward.
And we veterans support Obama 4 to 1. If McCain supports veterans so much, why has he voted against us so much? Send GWB and Cheney to Iraq Jan 20th.
My category is I love my country, and I'd like to have it back from the right-wing extremists/terrorists. I'd also like you to know that I paid my own way to college, I currently make well into the six figures, I have never been on welfare of any kind, have great health insurance through my husband's job, and we have a 16-year-old whom we want to inherit a peaceful and prosperous country -- not the financially bankrupt and morally bankrupt country that exists today.
Wildwonderful - what's your story? From reading your posts, I'd guess you can't identify at all with any educated answers. By the way, try spell check. It's a marvelous little tool. Loser.
I want someone with some modicum of intelligence in the White House. And someone who will protect the constitution, not destroy it. And someone who will lead from a position of hope, not fear. That pretty much leaves out McCain on all counts. I'm a small business owner who has done very well this year and I'm still working 2 jobs. My wife has MS and the medical bills have already driven us into bankruptcy once. So your assertion that only welfare deadbeats are voting for Obama is just asinine.
OUShark - Obama has already said when he considers choices for the Supreme Court he will pick people that will take into account a person's race and monetary background because minorities and the poor are owed a favor. Where does it say in the Constitution that a person's background has anything to do with the law? If you break the law then you are responsible. I work in the legal field. This is not right. We have laws for a reason, none of which are that some people do not need to be held accountable.
Jules,
I think you're dodging the reasons I've given for voting for Obama, as asked by wildwonderful. After trying "Beer Buddy Bush" for 8 years, I think we've proven beyond any reasonable doubt that you can't get by in the White House with a sweet 'tator mentality. It'll be very refreshing for once to have a REAL educated president.
After Bush's assault on the Constitution, it will be nice to have a president in office who actually obeys his oath of office and, not only protects the Constitution, but UNDERSTANDS it, as well.
Aren't you the beacon of light OUShark? College educated, owns a business, works 2 jobs. I am going to vote like you do! I love arrogant whit and business 'almost' know how. You are the center of the universe, just like every democrat thinks they are the center of the universe. To hell with the rest of the people, if they knew anything they would be like me! ...and act and look and vote like me! ....OK, you are the president of the United States. A group of radical terrorists hijack a few planes and run them into skyscrapers in your large cities. What would you do? ...nothing? ...ask the UN for help? ...ignore intelligence pointing the finger at a particular leader? ...give up? ...blame America for being a bad country? ...get another degree, you don't know everything yet.
commonsense, you venom is just that. it isn't much of a position, just pure nastiness.
Put down Karl Rove's autobiography and go for a walk to clear your head.
"To hell with the rest of the people, if they knew anything they would be like me! ...and act and look and vote like me! "
That sounds like the drivel from the repug posters I've been hearing for the last several months.
Now, what would I do? I would have invaded Afghanistan, exactly as Bush did. But I wouldn't have left the fight (where we knew Bin Laden was hiding) and go invade another country. We wasted valuable resources in Iraq when we should have concentrated our efforts where we KNEW the enemy was hiding. The fight against terrorism will last for years and years and will cost us many many billions over. Let's not waste it on wild goose chases.
Wildwonderful....shall I send you a copy of my new bumper sticker to replace the 'W' ones...? 'O, The President'
Oh, BTW, will you choose a new God when HE votes in Obama tomorrow??
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE VOTE !!
We need more than the past average of 40% of the middle class voters to go out and vote. We know that 100% of the extremists out there will vote.
What the polls should reveal are the real results of who votes which way. Let me guess if your a government worker probably Hussein. If you are having kids you either cant afford or you are not married then I would guess Hussein. Lets see if your a teacher or professor who probably couldn't make it in the real world I would guess Hussein. If you do drugs or a child molester I would guess Hussein. If you have a disdain for Christian's I would guess Hussein. If you are an atheist or love the ACLU, PETA, GAY GROUPS, NOW, NAACP, ACORN, I would guess Hussein. Last but not least if you are addicted to borrowing money and are deep in debt I would guess Hussein.
This government worker and the government workers that I work with are going for McCain.
The government workers I work with are going for Obama.
Actually, you got it right. Gallup and some other pollsters do show certain demographics and one of the things they show is that Obama's support is largest among people who have no Christian values. His support is primarily from minorities who make less than $50,000 a year and who have no church affiliation or if they do, do not attend.
Luckily, in AMERICA, one needs not be a christian to vote! Thank God that our founding fathers had the foresight to see what division religion could bring to a government, wait, that wasn't foresight was it? That was them escaping the opression of religion.
Take it somewhere else Sam, maybe somewhere like the middle east where they appreciate the intolerance of other's folks religion or lack thereof. We don't see it that way here in the United States of America.
you are a very uninformed disturbed individual
You call yourselves "CHRISTIANS" when in fact you and your party have exhibited everything but that, stop using the Christian label or using your bibles as a crutch...try opening your bibles and reading it instead and see the error of your ways.
WILDWONDERFUL,
You're right the polls should show who we are and who we are voting for. I don't have a problem with that but you seem to. I am a white, former Marine with 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star and now a Doctor, I make more than $250,000 a year and I will be paying more taxes under Obama, but I will be voting for him because he is right in what he is saying. Now how about you?
Hey Widwonderful,
There have been many posts asking you the same question. Who do you work for? You seem to have quite a bit of time to be posting all over these blogs. Is that your "job" for the RNC?
WILDWONDERFUL
let me get this strait...i became a teacher because i couldn't make it in the real world? what real world are you speaking of? the one where a union plumber's son works his ass off to a full academic scholarship to an elite private school, meanwhile working construction to help keep a roof over the heads of my wife and children, and finally earning dual BA's and graduating summa cum laude. Then going to graduate school and earning a MA and full teaching credential in a year?
This is the real world i live in, what does yours look like?
...your right i became a teacher because i just can't hack it...jackass.
i am none of those things and i am voting for obama.. i dont mind paying a little higher taxes if it means those less fortunate than i am can have an opportunity to do better. i thought thats what this country was about? everyone has truly shown their selfishness in this election. i am voting for hope this time, for my children to grow in a country where people are judged on character and not color or religion. hope that we can be respected in the world again.
Save your vote corporategal. Campaign promises are only promises. They have to tell a story of how wonderful things will be if they are elected, then get in and develope new plans of their own. They all do it. I learned that what ever they tell you is close to the opposite of what they will really do. I'm voting McCain. Obama doesn't even HAVE a history except for all the bad he's done.
ww. guess again
Desperation Samba..la la la la la!!!!
Vote for "THAT ONE"!
Obama / Biden, '08!
Why has the news media stopped asking for Palin's medical records? I'm betting the records will show she had an abortion somewhere along the way, and that would be the deal breaker of dealbreakers.
There is something the pollsters are not reporting, and that is the demograpics of their respondents. They show the percentages among various demograpics but not the percentages of respondents in each category. Telephone poilling no longer reaches a wide segment of society as it did before the days of Called ID, answering machines and Cell phones when people actually answered their phones. The only way a poll can be reliable is if it actually reflects society. When was the last time you answered your phone when you didn't know the caller?
Sam, exactly. I know I don't answer any calls ever if caller ID doesn't tell me who it is.
Now, if a message is left, I might respond.
You people make me hope there is still enough racism left in this country to save it from Obama.I pray for the Bradley effect. And I am not and have never been a racist.Which is more than you can say for Rev.Wright and Obama....
These days I answer the phone in hopes of telling the poller that I am voting for Obama.
I don't wait for them to call me. I call them and tell that I am voting for McCain (or should I say have voted for McCain.)
Obama/Biden 08, for Hope, Peace and Proseperity.
Give me a break.
Prosperity for who? Those who sit on their butts and ask for handouts?
Catherine -
Get off your butt! Take a walk to the library and attempt to educate yourself. Let me guess..a stay-at-home wife? Republican hubby? How'd I know? LOL
We will have lots of hope under Obama - hope that he doesn't mess things up so much we can't get out of it, hope that his term will end quickly, and hope that people will see the error of their ways!
Now you know how us Dems have felt for the last eight interminably long years...
Woohooo! Lots of "Troll Time" here! You losers underscore PRECISELY why nobody with a brain or soul would/should EVER vote Retardican again! You just can't scare people anymore with the doom and gloom that is your ONLY leg to stand on! The Reich made it's bed, and brainwashed a bunch of suckers along the way. I'm just glad the "Contract ON America" is about over!
I note that this poll doesn't have anything about the approval of Congress which is less than half of the presiden't approval rating. The democratic congress has managed to actually do much worse than the Republicans and I didn't think that was possible.
Look for a Republican win tommorrow.
Sorry AMBER, that you bought hook line and sinker for PainintheA$$, your voting for the wrong bunch. Fear and doom and gloom are not what this county needs so crawl in you home and just sit and watch a wave of blue across this nation. VET for OBAMA/BIDEN...
Yes, Amber, funny how the Democratic Congress is out of sight, out of mind. They accomplished nothing in the two years they have been in control, except to dig us in deeper. When all of them are on tape saying the "economy is great, Fannie and Freddie aren't broken, what's the problem" it is obvious they have no idea of what is up and what is down. I love hearing the comments from Dems now that say the Republicans are responsible for the bailout. It may have been originally presented by a Repub but the Dems ran with the ball and added all their extra perks to it and they voted to pass it. It was not the Republicans that passed it. In fact, the Dems whined when it failed the first time and said the Republicans don't care about their country. Funny how easily it is forgotten by the Dems. I'm thinking they should all be voted out of office because they have no short term memory left.
