— In a new online video, “Star Trek” legend William Shatner says he’s ready to move his cyberspace feud with former co-star George Takei to the set of his upcoming Biography Channel talk show, “Raw Nerve.”
Just last month, Shatner blasted his fellow actor over a perceived wedding invitation snub that left him feeling “nothing but pity” for Takei. Now, in his latest YouTube offering dubiously titled “Shatner Tries To Settle Takei Feud,” the 77-year-old claims Takei’s the one with the problem.
“George has been mean to me for a long time — I mean, decades and decades,” Shatner insisted. “I’m not mad at him. I’m just annoyed that he keeps saying mean things about me ... I just wish he’d stop.”
Of course, Takei may not have any reason to stop his alleged bad behavior, what with Shatner taking new swipes at him in the form of old “Star Trek” stories.
Shatner reminisced about one exchange he shared with Takei after learning the Sulu character would get his own ship. “I remember saying to him, ‘George, you’re going to be on another starship and all the action takes place on our starship; aren’t you going to be missing that?’” Shatner recalled. “He said, ‘Yes, but I’ll have my own starship.’ I didn’t want to remind him that this was fiction and not reality. I didn’t want to destroy his world.”
On the off chance that Takei’s world remained intact after hearing that, Shatner then offered his former friend the chance to hash it out on his talk show.
Joe Jonas’ rebound romance
It’s only been a month since Joe Jonas parted ways with country singer Taylor Swift, but it seems the middle Jonas brother has already found a way to mend his broken heart. According to People, the 19-year-old is now romancing actress Camilla Belle.
“They met on the set of his (‘Lovebug’) music video,” a source revealed to the magazine. “All the guys always had thought she was really pretty, and that’s why they asked her to be in it.”
It wasn’t long after the shoot before Jonas and the “10,000 BC” star made a love connection, but People reports the pair’s private ways meant they were able to keep it under wraps for a while.
“They are not public about it but they’ve just been hanging out with their friends and Joe’s brothers,” said the source. “They are very private about it.”
Dish on the fly
While Gwyneth Paltrow told the press she’d be “supporting (Madonna) in all the ways” possible during her split from Guy Ritchie, the National Enquirer reports that the queen of pop just wants her pal to keep quiet. “If you want to help me and be supportive of me, then keep your mouth SHUT!” Madonna allegedly urged Paltrow. “Say nothing about me or my divorce.” … Is teen star Cody Linley flirting with the pros on “Dancing With the Stars”? According to Star magazine, the 18-year-old actor can’t keep his hands to himself when he’s in the company of ballroom beauties. “Cody’s a good kid, but he seems to have turned into a monster!” an insider revealed. The source claims Linley called professional hoofer Lacey Schwimmer to his trailer and pulled her close to steal a kiss. “Cody might have thought he was being playful, but Lacey was definitely freaked out, and she rushed out of his trailer.” Linley’s then said to have transferred his affections to dancing veteran Kym Johnson. Just wait until Johnson’s partner, retired defensive tackle Warren Sapp, hears about that.
