Three adults and a 1-year-old baby have died in what Guatemalan police believe may have been a violent family dispute over an inheritance.

National police spokesman Donald Gonzalez quotes neighbors as saying one of the victims was overheard arguing with her half-sister over a disputed plot of land.

The half-sister allegedly threatened to kill the victim and her family.

The bodies of the adults were found on Friday at the half-sister's home, all shot to death and with their hands bound. The baby also died in the shooting in Santa Catarina Pinula, on the outskirts of Guatemala City. Three children ages 3, 4 and 6 suffered gunshot wounds and were being treated at a hospital.

The half-sister has not been located.
