QUITO — Ecuador says annual inflation slowed to 9.1 percent in November from 9.9 percent the previous month.

Prices are still rising three times faster than they were this time last year, when inflation was 2.7 percent.

Price gains for food, beverages, transportation and education led increases.

The country's Statistics and Census Institute said Thursday it expects to finish the year with inflation near 10 percent, up from initial forecasts of 3.4 to 5 percent.
