Cheney: Not ready to judge Obama stimulus plan

WASHINGTON — Vice President Dick Cheney says there is a general concern in the country that some big government action is needed to help revive the economy.

But he says can't judge the big economic stimulus plan that Barack Obama is considering because the program has yet to be announced.

Obama's team and congressional staff have been working on details of a plan to pump up the economy with $650 billion or more in government spending over the next few years. Some of the president-elect's aides think the plan could grow to $850 billion after negotiations with Congress.

Cheney says he wants to see what's in the plan because he could say whether it's a good way to spend money. But he says he generally favors tax cuts as a way to help the economy.

Cheney spoke on "Fox News Sunday."
