The following recalls have been announced:

— Cafe Favorites is recalling whole grain 5-inch super sub sandwiches, with day codes of 08343, because they could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include: high fevers, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. No illnesses have been reported to date. The sandwiches were sold to distributors in Maryland, Florida, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. The Maryland distributor sold some to a school in the Washington, DC, area.
