NEW YORK — Lauren Ambrose and Andrea Martin have joined the cast of the Broadway-bound production of Eugene Ionesco's "Exit the King."
Ambrose, best known for her role as Claire Fisher on the HBO television series "Six Feet Under," will play the monarch's second wife in the absurdist comedy, which opens March 26 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Geoffrey Rush portrays the king and Susan Sarandon is his conniving first queen.
Martin, last seen on Broadway as Frau Blucher in the stage version of Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein," will play a servant.
Preview performances begin March 7.
