JERUSALEM — Israeli security forces have backtracked on a report that Gaza militants fired on Israel in violation of a shaky truce.

Police had first reported Tuesday that at least one mortar fell. The military said later that a warning siren that went off was a false alarm.

Israel waged a devastating three-week war on Gaza until declaring a cease-fire that went into effect Sunday. Hamas declared its own cease-fire later that day.

"We are still ready and capable of firing more rockets. We are developing the range of our rockets and the enemy will face more, and our rockets will hit new targets, God willing,"

    So much for peace.

What can be worse than a supposed reverent man saying his prayers to God standing beside a bunch of rockets that will be shot at Israel???

AND not only that, but the idiot representative of the Hamas terrorist group says that the rockets will be firing soon into Israel "God willing".  These terrorists are delusional!!!  If the Israelites are God's chosen people, why in the world would "God be willing" to kill His chosen people??

Israel better get its ducks in a row now!!!!  The rockets will soon start up again and if Israel doesn't have all of its ducks in a row, will face a bigger problem after today!!  One rocket flies into Israel from the Hamas terrorist and Israel needs to bulldoze the entire city.  Push the trash across the border into Egypt or in to the sea!!  "Kill them all and let God sort them out!!"  I like this Marine motto!!!!  It would serve Israel well dealing with the Hamas terrorist group and the lazy Palestinian people.

    Wow!  No!

You mean no American chaplain or soldier has every prayed for God to be with him and the troops under his command?  No American chaplain or soldier has ever prayed that no ciivilian or children are killed, or that his aim will be sure?  No American military leader has ever done that?

Exterminate Hamas yes.  But, have mercy on the Palestinian people.  I'd pray.

I quite agree.  What could be worse? Incidentally, if you're referring to that first picture included above, that IDF soldier isn't standing next to a bunch of rockets but rather artillery shells.

Plus the chosen people seem to have been somewhat less than invincible (militarily speaking) from time to time.

And as for wiping out Gaza, if a single rocket is fired, there's no one here who can open the eyes of your countrymen better than you can. Personally I'm wondering if it's time for a change, if not by the incoming administration then perhaps by the next.

My apologies to all.  I was taking the person praying by the ARTILLERY shells to be on the side of the Hamas.  I didn't read the caption underneath.  My humble apologies.

And yes, there are plenty of people whom pray to God during times of war.  BUT my point was, they have a truce in firing upon each other and all the HAMAS bozos can think of is re-arming themselves, making their rockets better for killing more Israelites.  AND not only that, but bragging about it to the media!!!  What the hell is wrong with them??  They are deluded to be sure.

And in another article, Hamas was having parades celebrating a victory.  What victory???  The fact that they are still alive??  One shop owner said, "We shouldn't be celebrating, we have a huge casualty rate and billions in damages"  The Palestinians should be working on getting rid of the HAMAS terrorists and working on getting a govt that will help them grow and protect them.  Until they get rid of HAMAS, they will not be able to live in peace.

HAMAS IS A TERRORISTIC GROUP THAT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL EVERY LAST ISRAELITE IS DEAD or EVERY LAST HAMAS TERRORIST or SYMPATHIZER IS DEAD.  What a shame!!

The people of Gaza turn to Hamas because Israel drove them to it. Only Hamas has stepped forward to help them fight the Israeli oppression. Only Hamas has stepped forward to provide food, water, power and shelter in Gaza.  Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organization, however Israel created in Gaza the world's largest concentration camp. They launched air strikes against it's infrastructure, built walls around it and blockaded it from the sea. Then they launched this war on Gaza because they have an election coming up and nothing drives people to the polls like fear, war and the slaughter of innocents. They turned it into the new Warsaw ghetto and oddly enough don't see the irony in that. It is Israel that keeps Hamas alive. Israel gives Hamas it's oxygen to breath and it's blood to shed. Israel is the very life of Hamas. Israel makes Hamas possible.

Yes, Hamas is a terrorist organization, however Israel created....

When the world stops apologising for terrorists we may finally start stamping out the scourge of terrorism.  There is no justification for terrorism, period.

"Oh, what else could these poor people do, so badly outgunned?  Can we blame them for murdering civilians and provoking wars that lead to civilian casualties and the trashing of their homes?  How else can they fight for their freedom?  And remember it's all in the name of God ..."

Actually, Hamas took advantage of popular disillusion with Fatah at the time.  This is clear from the historical record.

Some at least must now be wishing they'd stayed well away from Hamas.  Poor sods.

Christianity, Judaism and Islam share the same war god.  It's caused most of the problems on this planet and I think people who do not belong to these 3 religions are going to get awfully fed up with it, and soon.

If violence is the only language used to start and end conflicts, all in the world can then speak it too. What the world needs now is peace, not war.

And besides that, some of the earlier societies were controlled by women.  Didn't turn out so well.

And this is the new Israeli ceasefire which is ''unilateral'' even if the lie was true and Hamas fired rockets

the IOF has breached the unilaterally declared ceasefire. Shooting and shelling from artillery batteries, tanks and naval vessels have occurred in various areas throughout the day. Israeli aircraft also launched raids on open areas. At 10:30am, Israeli troops opened fire at civilians who were trying to reach their homes in Khuzaa village, east of Khan Younis. A man, 22-year-old Mahir Abu Irjila, was killed as a result. The victim and his family had evacuated their house and stayed in a UN shelter.

Yeah, well tell that to some of the other bloggers around here, Fada.  They believe that the "highly sophisticated" military of the IDF can do no wrong.  I do not blame the IDF soldiers.  They are following orders.  But who is giving them these orders?   The commanders have to be held responsible for these egregious mistakes.

VMS,   What surprises me is fragile propaganda Israel is using , they can do better than that , not accusing Hamas with launching rockets while Hamas is not obligated by the unilateral ceasefire....here is another source:   Israeli gunboats are reportedly still firing rounds toward the Gaza

In fact I blame the soldiers more than their The commanders ,  soldiers sometimes go beyond orders and shoot deliberately on children and women in even times of peace:  Second pregnant woman shot by Israeli checkpoint troops

You're right, Fada.  It is the worst P.R. I think I've seen -- except for "Mission Accomplished."  I have fading sympathy for the Israelis.  You know, I have heard others say that the Palestinian people deserve this treatment because they elected "terrorists."  And they should "stand up" against them; therefore, they wouldn't be bombed.

Well, Israel citizens, the same can be said for your country.  You elected these leaders, and hey have gone overboard.  Get rid of them, and the bombing will stop when you get serious about a "ceasefire."

VMS: This kind of cruel and cheap propaganda is posed on internet to solicit the western ''especialy US,s'' mainstream because ''Terror is the key word''in America  to legitimize inappropriate action against civilians  Pro-Israelis focus at ''capture US,s mainstream''...who donnates to Israel and votes for the president whowill  keep supplying Israel with money and lethal weapons

Palestinians didn,t mean to elect terrorists...and ''though I don,t like Hamas because they endanger their people but ''the right of resistence''  is legal in occupied places....not by firing rockets on civilians. of course ......but by secret operations  against military.

Palestinians meant to elect those who promised to protect them ,  not those who will destroy Israel as the propagandists like to focus at''
