PALM COAST — Flagler County authorities said a restaurant owner pistol-whipped and beat a customer who complained that his takeout order was incorrect. The owner of Goomba's Pizzeria was charged with aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon and released on bail.

According to a police report, security footage from the pizzeria shows that the owner struck the customer with a gun. He then jumped over a counter and started to assault the customer and his roommate.

The customer was at the pizzeria to collect a refund for a calzone, which he said was prepared incorrectly. He was taken to a hospital after the incident with a bloodied head.

Hey, if you eat at a place with "Goomba's" in their name, what more can you expect than to be pistol whipped?

"Hey Guido, get ova heeeere, watch da stoa! Dis friggin clown is DIS-respect-in yoar CAL-ZONE! I'm gonna FIX him good!"

As a former street-level business owner myself, I recommend against pistol-whipping customers over a single food item. Somebody running off with a stack of pizzas - maybe! But I wonder what goes on in some small business owner's minds in these tough times. Especially if somebody was really nagging and righteous (as some realNew Yorkers can be) pushes the wrong buttons. Maybe eating half the thing and go back with frivolous complaints: "Whine, whine, customer always right. I want my money back!" This may have started fairly innocently like many a skid on MAD-TV. Think about Stuart and his obnoxious mother! And who wouldn't want to pistol-whip Loraine sticking her head under the sneeze-guard?!

As a manager of a small pizzeria I can sympathize with this guy. I would never attack a customer...I have wanted to. Some customers are so dumb about ordering pizza. First you call us up and ask us to hold on while you argue with everyone in the room about what you want on it. Meanwhile the other phone is ringing off the hook and pizzas are falling out the oven. After you've ordered you ask for coupons. My delivery driver brings your order timely but it takes you 10 minutes to answer the door. You don't tip a cent. You belittle me as you call back saying there's not enough cheese on it or I only count 25 pepperonis.

I bet this guy was one of those customers and this owner just snapped. Amen brother!
