— Active weather was in store for the West Coast on Monday. Heavy snow showers were forecast for the Sierra Mountain range, with another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation predicted. Strong southeast wind gusts of up to 45 mph were to create periods of blowing snow and reduced visibility. The inland regions of Northern California were to remain under a Winter Storm Warning until Monday evening.

Meanwhile, several inches of rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, and strong winds were forecast for the central and southern California shoreline. These areas were to remain under Flash Flood Watches and Wind Advisories throughout the day.

Rain and snow showers were expected to spread into areas of the Pacific Northwest, the Intermountains, and the Southwest by Monday evening.

In the East, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms were forecast for the southern regions of Florida and Texas.

The rest of the nation was to remain under mostly fair conditions on Monday.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of minus 18 degrees at Cook, Minn., to a high of 84 degrees at Hollywood, Fla.
