Scoop: Plot details for new ‘Sex’ movie

Mr. Big (Chris Noth)

— The “Sex and the City” movie sequel just got its release date (May 2010), but that doesn’t mean it’s too soon for plot details to begin leaking.

Among them, a non-shocker: Big might cheat on Carrie.

“Their marriage is going to face lots of challenges,” a SATC insider told Life & Style. “Big will be tempted by a younger colleague. It’s a juicy role for whoever they wind up casting.”

The flaw in the plan is that as of April 6, Chris Noth, who plays Big, still hadn’t signed on for the film.

And, the women of SATC might not be recession-proof, according to the source.

“The proposed story line for Samantha will be her having to downsize her big-spending life after some of her investments get wiped out,” the insider reveals. “You will see her having to survive on a more modest budget but still staying true to her fabulous taste.”

Hudson and Wilson broken up again
Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson are on the outs again.

The latest iteration of their on-and-off relationship began in February and ended recently thanks to Hudson’s inability to commit, In Touch Weekly reports.

“Owen wants to get married and he proposed to Kate soon after they got back together,” a source said. “But she’s not ready.”

‘Gossip’ boy’s weighty issue
Chuck Bass may become even more off-putting in future episodes of “Gossip Girl” — and not just because of his slimy behavior. Actor Ed Westwick’s constant partying is starting to show on his waistline, In Touch Weekly reports.

“Ed has been gaining a lot of weight — not just around the waist, but throughout his whole body,” said an on-set source. “First, the costume department had to buy him new, bigger pants. Then, his shirts and jackets got way too snug. The costumers even requested that producers talk to Ed — they don’t want Chuck to be fat!”

This week’s cover I love: Us Weekly
There’s no better morning than Wednesday. My first stop is the 30 Rock newsstand, which has all the celeb weeklies lined up in their gossip glory even before the sun comes up. There, I examine each cover, in preparation for the flurry of early morning phone calls with industry friends about the titles with the most compelling combo of words and images.

This week’s far-and-away winner is Us Weekly. Three reasons why:

1. The image of Lindsay Lohan is pitch-perfect. Dark, alone, her eyes seem to plead, “Please, be my friend.”

2. The blurb, “Dumped, humiliated, broke & crying: ‘Everyone’s turned on me,’” confirms our suspicions about the fallen starlet.

3. Lindsay’s broke, and Us Weekly goes for broke. They have an interview with Lohan, but that didn’t mean they were going to back off and play nice. A point of view is clear.

If I were buying just one magazine this week, Us would be my choice. Check back next Thursday to see how Us stacked up against the competition, and to see which title you should look for on your newsstands.

      Just my $0.02

I think he's a terrible actor. He's not that good when he was in Law & Order. I swear I saw him break character and laugh as he fell into the limo in SATC.

Let me guess.....the 4 Whores of the Apocalypse ride around town, buy a bunch of expensive clothes, eat in expensive restaurants, talk about getting laid, complain about getting laid, blah blah blah. SJP is a 'buttaface.'

          Not interested. Next.

Gee, I thought the plot line might involve these women signing up for their first Social Security Retirement checks for pity sake!! Exactly how long do these particular women REALLY think they can get away with playing 4 single, sex-craved, women looking for husbands???? Better yet, if the "powers that be" INSIST on stringing this along for another decade at least call it , "Cougars and the City"!. These actresses MUST be really hard up for work on something more age-appropriate!!
