Gingrich: A president alone can't make big change

WASHINGTON — Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says it will take more than a president alone to achieve the change needed for the U.S. to compete with China and India.

A potential candidate for president in 2012, Gingrich says that with more than 500,000 elected officials across the U.S., the president by himself or herself cannot make the change the country would need.

Gingrich says that whether he would be able to govern would be a key consideration as he ponders a run for the Republican nomination.

He says other factors are what his family thinks, whether a run would be practical and realistic, and whether he has a message to unify the country.

Gingrich appeared Sunday on CBS' "Face the Nation."

Potential candidate my a$$. Three times married, gives divorce papers to first wife , who is in the hospital sick with cancer. Cheats on second wife, then marries third wife who works for him , give me a break. Got kicked out as the Speaker of the House. He and the Republicans tried to shut down the country over the budget. Newt is not in office anymore. He needs to STFU ! The problem is a lot of people are afraid of the Pillsbury dough/no boy. We don't want to hear what he has to say. UNIFY THE COUNTRY, that's a joke. Traitors- Newt dough boy, Oxycontin Jun kie Rush, Hannity sissy, Crybaby Beck, bi got Pat Buchanan, ra cist redneck Joe Scarborough. President Obama haters who wants to divide the country.

You said it all perfectly. For this and other has been windbags who have been sitting around as arm chair quarterbacks ranting and raving because their little greed world came to a crashing end is a joke. I say keep it up GOP --- 2010 is just around the corner and I predict a Republican rout.

Oh -- thanks for reminding some of the amnesiacs in this country that the holier than thou Newt is a philandering a##. Not that care but you know - the WWJD crowd likes to get all worked up over personal issues like this - only for Democrats tho.

I agree. Gingrich will NEVER be POTUS!!! Too much baggage, too old, and he belongs to the wrong party.

Didn't Gingrich agree that Bush "the decider" had the executive authority to do just that?
