LONGVIEW — The Cowlitz County sheriff's office said a driver went at least three miles on I-5 near Castle Rock in reverse. Deputy Ryan Cruser said a 41-year-old Canadian was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Thursday after his car stopped in the middle of the northbound lanes. He laughed as deputies approached and refused to get out his rented car.
The Daily News of Longview reports deputies broke a window and used a Taser to subdue him. He was held for a mental evaluation.

The article notes that the car was rented. Rental companies charge per mile, driving backwards does not affect the mileage gauge. My husband and his friend use to drive their parent's cars backwards all over the city in order to fool the parents in to thinking the car sat safely in the driveway while they were at work.
I live 30 minutes from Longview, WA. Funny. lol.
Book him!
There are so many unanswered questions ...
Was he going the wrong way in a traffic lane or was he just driving in reverse?
Maybe the car was stuck in reverse.
They tasered him? uh, maybe he doesn't understand English and only speaks Canadian. :-)
