Walgreen promotes CFO to additional VP position

DEERFIELD — Walgreen Co. said Friday it promoted Chief Financial Officer Wade Miquelon to the additional role of executive vice president.

Miquelon, 44, had previously served as CFO and senior vice president since joining the company last June. Previously he served in a variety of roles during 16 years with Procter & Gamble Co.

Walgreen also announced the promotion of John Spina to corporate vice president of retail integration and format development. He previously served as vice president and treasurer. In the new position he will manage integration of new businesses and develop new store formats.

Shares of Walgreen Co. fell 54 cents Friday to close at $28.84.
