ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines Inc.'s maintenance unit has reached an agreement for servicing Hawaiian Airlines planes, a deal that could be worth as much as $500 million.
Atlanta-based Delta said Wednesday that the Delta TechOps memorandum of understanding with Honolulu-based Hawaiian Airlines includes support for Hawaiian's new Airbus 330-200 fleet and an extension of an existing support agreement for Hawaiian's Boeing 767 fleet.
Deliveries of Hawaiian's Airbus 330-200 fleet begin in April 2010.
Delta is the world's biggest airline operator. It sees growth opportunities for its maintenance, repair and overhaul unit.
Besides providing maintenance and engineering support for Delta's fleet of more than 750 aircraft, TechOps serves more than 150 other aviation and airline customers around the world.
