US closing some programs in Bolivia

LA PAZ — The U.S. Embassy in Bolivia says it is closing some democracy-promotion programs at the request of the Bolivian government.

The Embassy tells The Associated Press on Sunday that the local government asked it in August to close some programs run by the U.S. Agency for International Development. It says it is doing so.

One of the programs that is closing trains local leaders. Officials of Bolivia's leftist government have suggested in the past that some money is diverted to financing the opposition. U.S. officials deny that.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Bolivia has the right idea, The United States of America needs to stop butting in to someone elses systems of government. What sort of foolishness is the "U.S. Agency for International Development"? Is it that every country that proudly displays another flag rather than the Stars and Stripes is primitive, barbaric and completely unable to govern themselves as sovereign states are forced by definition to do? Is it that everyone else deeply desires the American way of life or is it that everyone else acknowledges the U.S. "superiority in every field" and submit to the times? Long story short, The U.S., deal with your own multiple paranoid, compulsive, and bullying problems before taking on the "problems" of another country.

wtf is a "democracy promo program" and how did the USA become the teacher for such a thing in S. America, of all places, where it has historically supported and created so many military coups and dictatorships. ?
