— WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue went ahead with 3:41 to go, but the Boilermakers left Jimmy Clausen with too much time. The banged up quarterback, who was in and out of the game with a turf toe injury, orchestrated a game-winning, 72 yard drive, capped off by a 3-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph for the 24-21 win. Purdue had rattled off 14 unanswered fourth quarter points before the Irish marched down the field to pull off the come-from-behind win. Purdue called a curious timeout with 36 seconds to play after stopping a Notre Dame run play, which allowed the Irish to compose themselves and not waste a play spiking the ball.
