NORTH LITTLE ROCK — A man accused of killing a popular Arkansas television personality is going on trial.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in Little Rock in the trial of Curtis Lavelle Vance. He has pleaded not guilty to capital murder, rape and burglary.

KATV-Little Rock anchorwoman Anne Pressly was found brutally beaten in her bed in October 2008. She died days later without regaining consciousness.

Prosecutors say they plan to use DNA evidence and taped confessions from Vance.

Defense lawyers say police coerced Vance into providing a DNA sample before his arrest. Vance said he was confused by "police trickery."

Vance is from Marianna, about 100 miles east of Little Rock. He could face the death penalty if convicted.

They "tricked" him into getting a DNA sample.

Who the hell cares? If he's supposed to be living 100 miles away from Little Rock, there's no reason his DNA should be anywhere around Ms. Pressly.

Fry him.

She was beaten to death with her garden tool. Give me a garden hoe, and I'll beat him all the way to Hell.

What's wrong with this guy? Everyone likes magic "tricks."

I think a shovel would be more effective.

I'm just shooting off my mouth. I'm not very big, he would take my hoe or shovel from me in thirty seconds flat and beat me unrecognizable like he did her. I'm going to try and follow this case to see what defense comes up with.

The usual BS: "troubled childhood", "lack of educational opportunities", "impoverished living conditions."
