Have a craving to see the White House destroyed? How about the Vatican? Well, director Roland Emmerich is here to help with his latest film, “2012.” The Mayans believed that the world would come to an end in 2012, but in Emmerich’s version, surely John Cusack and Amanda Peet will make it through alive. Won’t they? (Opens Nov. 13)

In “The Messenger,” Ben Foster and Woody Harrelson star as soldiers assigned to notify the families of soldiers killed in action in Iraq. Foster’s character develops an attraction to a widow played by Samantha Morton. The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the film “gingerly probes wounds that are still healing with admirable empathy and insight.” (Opens Nov. 13)

Music
With “The Circle,” Bon Jovi puts away the country sound of their last album, “Lost Highway.” Richie Sambora told MusicRadar.com, “When Jon (Bon Jovi) called me up last year and said it was time to start writing, the first thing we asked ourselves was, ‘What do we feel like doing? Where are our heads at?’ And rocking was the answer.” (On sale Nov. 10)

How does infamous R&B singer R. Kelly prepare for an album? “I did my homework on (‘Untitled’) … for three months straight, I threw a party at my house every weekend,” Kelly told MissInfo.tv. “I’d play the music and see how they would react … if they didn’t feel it, I’d go back downstairs and rework it.” (On sale Nov. 10)

DVD
Critics agree: "Up" is uplifting and uproariously funny. Time magazine's Richard Corliss called it Pixar's "most deeply emotional and affecting work." The film tells the tale of an elderly man who ties thousands of balloons to his house and sails away to South America -- but there's a stowaway he hadn't expected. Now this is the original "Balloon Boy." (On DVD Nov. 10.)
Up, Nov. 11

TV
Even if you never saw the original 1960s British version of "The Prisoner," you've probably heard of the cult favorite. Now AMC brings the show back as a miniseries, starring Jim Caviezel as Number Six and Ian McKellen as Number Two. Will a whole new generation be as fascinated by the secrets of the mysterious Village as their elders? (Premieres Nov. 15, 8 p.m., AMC.)

The myans did not believe the world would end in 2012. Why do people say these things? To get people to read them?

How stupid are people? They just ran out of rock on that calendar. There are other Mayan calanders that go past the year 2012, yet some real idiots actually see something significant in the short one. They don't need to worry. My calander on the kitchen wall stops at December 31, 2009, so THAT IS WHEN THE END OF THE WORLD HAPPENS. Right? No? Same logic...if you're a mentally retarded goose.

Considering your kitchen calendar is as in detailed as the Mayan calender, it's a good comparison.

But snarky comments aside, I agree. The mayans said it was the end of an age.

I agree, there is no limit to the stupidity on this issue.

My calendar on the wall right now clearly says the world will end on December 31 of 2009, as there is nothing, nada, zero, after that.

51 Days and counting. I'm thinking of cigs and gin, friends, cigs and gin till the end.

What I can see here is a movie production taking advantage of people's fears. If it turns out to be true, no one is going to have time to listen to someone trumpet "I told you so". If it turns out to be false, they get to make money from John Q. Public.

The Mayans appeared to know more about celestial mechanics than what a lot today would consider, surprising.

Genius comes in different packages, I suppose

There is hype and truth about 2012 even some doom and gloom. At Woodstock Universe we believe 2012 is the beginning not the end. What we envision now post-2012 to be, is what will manifest.

Check out 2012 info and listen to RADIO WOODSTOCK 69 which features only music from the original Woodstock era (1967-1971) and RADIO WOODSTOCK with music from the original Woodstock era to today's artists who reflect the spirit of Woodstock. Watch Woodstock TV.

On the part about R. Kelly, the first step to making a new album for him was to avoid the sexual predator tag. Even though it was clearly on video. Sick F%$#.

2012 is not a hoax. Roland Emmerich's 2012 movie trailer pretty much depicts what is to happen. The Maya were not the only ones who knew about 2012 as most of the ancient world did from 3,000 BC up till the 1800s when the knowledge was lost. Washington DC was laid out to reflect 2012 to remind visitors. Monuments carved in stone were left world wide to warn our generation of 2012. Christ taught it in the Bible. The ancient world understood 2012 very well, however the modern world, lest of all the modern Maya, are stumbling in the dark reguarding 2012. Read my non-fiction trilogy titled, The Ark of Millions of Years, the most comprehensive 2012 books in the world based on scientific, historical, biblical, and Mayan facts. I am a Mayan expert and first person to fully understand why the Maya end their long count calendar on Dec. 21, 2012. In fact, many cycles of time end on that date for a good reason. The cataclysm isn't caused by a pole shift, planet X, the second coming of Christ, or a comet or asteroid striking the planet but by something completely unexpected which has never before been discussed in forums etc....only found in my books. In fact, I'm the only author who has written about this cause and published it in a 2012 book trilogy. And it is the end of the world, the original creation....have to read the books to understand as 2012 is complex. Furthermore, it is impossible to summerize three books in a few sentences or paragraphs. Therefore, please read and prepare while you can for the time is short. I write under the pen of E. J. Clark...Thanks....

3 scenarios will play out in 2012 --- A.)Nothing - I reject this because look all around you,Changes happening right Now in the economic situation have put the world suddenly & unexpectedly on edge --- Something is Changing the "Rules". B.)All out Apocalypse --- I reject this possibility although the "Birth" of a new Age is fraught with some dangerous "Spasms" in the Physical world. C.) Something completely Different --- I accept this as the Truth is always between the 2 prior Extremes. The Mayans unusually sophisticated knowledge of Astronomy,Time Cycles & Natural rhythems make me think they knew MORE than we think they did --- We have Only 4 Mayan "Books"(Codices) handed down to the present day out of thousands of books they had(the Spanish burned the rest) What are we Missing ??? We'll find out first hand won't we !!!
