I saw this interview. It was all Meredith Viera could do to keep from rolling her eyes and bursting out in laughter. I was not surprised to read how Perez Hilton's rant was referenced as simply that he called her a "bi+_h", but it is very reflective of the media bias against Carrie Prejean. Hilton's response was beyond description, his rampage against Prejean was without equal and was quite profane. Because of the continued attacks aimed at Prejean by particular groups and much of the media, Prejean has chosen to defend herself. Just as I've read many times on these boards, if you don't want to view her or listen to her, change the channel. Obviously, there is a large audience that does want to hear from her or she wouldn't be an invited guest on so many shows.

Socrates and Karen, it is not a crock. The Miss Ca. Pageant board SUPPORTED her after her comments regarding gay marriage. She didn't get herself into trouble because of her comments about gay marriage during the pageant. Where she got into trouble was when she refused to attend speaking engagements as a part of her contract with Miss Ca Pageant. Then she went on speaking engagements that were not approved by Miss Ca Pageant which is also in violation of her contract. Then racy pictures surfaced that could have potentially made her ineligible for the crown and they gave her a pass. They let her keep her crown in spite of the fact that she LIED about the pictures in the first place. They then asked her if there was anything else they needed to know about and she assured them (lying again) that there was not.

Then come the nude photos of her where the "wind blew her shirt open" (yeah, whatever) and now a video of herself engaging in graphic sexually explicit activities (yes, masturbation IS a sexual activity, even if its not sex). Both of these were things that she assured everyone did not exist.

What ticks me off about all this is that she still refuses to be held accountable for her actions and instead tries to call this a "campaign to silence" her (obviously it hasn't worked well because she keeps opening her mouth and sticking her foot in it). She LIED about photos, she LIED about videos that she knew full well existed. She committed FRAUD when she signed a document stating this items did not exist. She fully intended to continue to commit fraud when she went into settlement talks. She STOLE the Miss California crown from some other contestant because of her fraud. Will she be required to return prize money given her by the pageant? No, instead the Pageant pays her lawyers AND she gets her boob job for free. She has not addressed any of the lies or the fraud that she has committed and she refuses to be held accountable for it, instead describing herself as some sort of victim.

Funny, she can still marry the person she chooses to marry. But she has helped a cause that purposely discriminates against an entire group of taxpayers. And she is indignant about it.

She is a sham, and a poor role model for young women.

Because many conservative Christian teenagers have taken abstinence pledges, they tend to be less likely to be prepared to have sex - ie, having condoms, being on the pill, etc. Therefore, when they get "caught up in the heat of the moment", there's a much higher chance of the girl getting pregnant.

Face analysis of the naked pics revealed that she was 19-20 when the pics were taken. Also, there should be a date and time embedded with the video file. Let an expert take a look at those dates, they will not lie. FOX is organizing protests by Americans against their goverment, via advertising spots they've created and aired on their network. That is not unbiased reporting of news and those ad spots are just one reason why FOX is no longer considered by the Whitehouse to be a news reporting outlet. Even Sheppard Smith apologized the other day for a reporter's biased reporting of a political event. MSNBC, CNN, and HLN always have reps from all sides. Even if their analysts (as opposed to reporters) sometimes use hostile interviewing tactics when discussing opposing views, at least you have a variety of voices at the table.

Just because they don't have web video scandals with little or no clothing on the internet doesn't mean either of those ladies has not done idiotic, pandering, eploitive nonsense. I think, Auteur, that what my-2-cents means is that tradition changes, so using it as legal precedent is rather ridiculous. The idea of "traditional" marriage even evolves in the bible, transitioning from polygamy to monogamy in the course of its pages. And certainly a traditional marriage from say the 1800s is very different from a marriage between a man and a woman now.
