SHEBOYGAN — A Waldo man accused of urinating on a police officer during his fifth drunken-driving arrest has been sentenced to a year in jail. Court records released Wednesday show 36-year-old Daniel L. Shilts Jr. of Waldo was also fined about $3,600 and had his driver's license revoked for three years.

The Sheboygan Press said according to the criminal complaint, Shilts was pulled over in November 2008 in Plymouth after an officer saw his vehicle hit a pole at a gas station.

The complaint said Shilts failed field-sobriety tests. It said as he was taken to the police station he urinated in the back of the squad car, spraying the back of the officer's head.

Defense attorney Chris Eippert said he thinks the sentence was appropriate to help Shilts deal with his acknowledged alcoholism.

spraying the back of the officer's head

It takes a lot of pressure to spray, mine usually comes out in a stream

It might spray, if you ricochet it off the dome light on the ceiling of the cop car.

        No I haven't. I'm way too Chicken....

However, when the local cops first started a bicycle patrol. They had these boney-a**ed bicycle cops wearing these Spandex shorts with a stripe down the side. A HILARIOUS sight. The first time I seen them, I got a uncontrollable case of the giggles. The Cops knew why I was Laughing at them. They just gave me dirty looks.

haha, I'd have to laugh too. I've seen those guys before on the beach and thought it was a joke myself. I'd like to see one of them chase down that dude on the Ducati Streetfighter. Good luck pal!

Two questions. I the cop had the man handcuffed behind his back (which is procedure). How did he get his zipper open or his pants down? Or, if his zipper and/or pants were still up hjow could he have "sprayed" the oficer? Just asking as the Associated Press's as usual stellar reporting does not give this info.

A ridiculous situation to say the least. I can't understand how he peed on the officer either. One thing for sure, he should stay in jail rather than driving drunk, and this being his fifth time, his car should have the ignition replaced with a ignition interlock.

If I was the cop I would go pee on the Judge that didn't put him in jail for keeps the fourth time around. Or the third and second time. May have to drink a lot of water to accomplish it but, maybe they would think twice the next time.

I think Daniel L. Shilts Jr. has an extra letter in his last name.
